As I said in my initial post, this is what I do when someone decides to try to block me out.

When this happens to me, I just relax and go behind whomever is trying to block me out. If it is that important to them to not let me in and it makes their day a little bit better having successfully blocked me out, so be it. It is not healthy for me to get upset over this. The person behind him/her will usually make room.
It saddens me that people see me as a jerk trying to jump the line. I am just driving properly and optimizing the lane(s) available. If everybody did this, traffic would move much smoother overall and all this road rage would be greatly reduced.

I see no "Vigilante Justice" being displayed in this thread. No one has tales of beating a pimp with a baseball bat or burning down the house of a child molester while he is tied to the telephone pole in front of it. It is "things I do to be a dick" or "what grinds my gears about traffic."

To be completely frank, the lane closure is what is going to cause traffic backups. The people who merge in early will just make the situation much worse.

Don't know if drivers are different in Calgary but out here the biggest slowdown in merges is not people going to the end, its people who have already merged but think they have to leave large gaps in slow moving traffic.
I take a merge parkway every day and usually go fairly close to the end - not because I want to butt in but because there will be at least 4 or 5 gaps that are safe to move in to because other people aren't paying attention or just don't know how to drive in traffic.

I've resorted to Vigilante Justice a couple times in my life but the best example I have comes from when I was a teenager. Growing up in a small town I went to a high school which went from grades 7-12 which meant I was stuck with a grade 10 bully for two years and this dude beat the crap out of us just about everyday. We'd try to fight back but it usually ended up just being worse.
When he graduated he got a job at the mill and was able to buy a brand new Camaro Berlinetta which at the time was a pretty sweet ride. Long story short his car was parked at the bottom of a hill at a house party and we ghost drove an old half ton right into the side of it. Did some nice damage to it!! IT WAS A ####ING AWESOME FEELING!!!

When I was a server I'd walk by sections of other servers I didn't like and crop dust their entire area with rancid farts. Ideally they would go up to a table immediately after I dusted it and the table would think it was them.

I blame the server all the time. Especially if it was actually me.

So justice was served! (Although I have no idea how and just wanted to use that phrase...)

I can't believe someone admits to stopping on the highway to tell someone to put away a phone ridiculous.
I can't stand people who want to be toy cops on the road, follow you or tell you how you should drive.
That guy is lucky he didn't get his teeth knocked back.
This happened to me and my mom once as well when she was dropping me off to school. She made a perfectly legal lane change to go ahead of some old fart, and get into the turning lane. This a hole followed us to school, and I knew he was going to tell her how to drive so I had my mom pull over by a 7-11. He starts screaming its people like you that leave people dead on the streets. After he finished his stupid rant I picked up a crowbar and told him to apologize now or I was going to smash his teeth back, the loser apologizes and rides off.

I was in a high school feud that evolved into something more serious. This kid's older brother got involved and starting driving over my parents' lawn in the middle of the night. They lived on a corner lot so he could hit the lawn at a high speed and really tear it up. This went on for months, cops said they couldn't do anything unless they were caught in the act.
At the time my mom worked for a moving company, if you've ever used a moving company you know that most of those movers have seen some #### in their day. Rough dudes. One of the movers happened to be ex H-A. He told her he could make the problem go away in a night. At that point my mother had exhausted all other options, she had no choice but to involve the Hells Angels in my high school feud. Without going into too much detail, they never bothered us again. It's a legendary story amongst my friends.

He didn't wanna do anything but this guy kept following him. So he called me up and told me this guy would not stop following him. I instructed him to get off at Peigan Trail and drive to the Wendy's and if he keeps following you ill be there.
So I rush over to the Wendy's and wait there. A couple minutes later my brother pulls in with this guy in hot pursuit behind him. Before my brother can fully stop the guy jumps out and punches and smashes my brothers side window. I jump out with my handy bat and threaten to take his head off if he doesn't leave. He proceeds to get in his jacked up truck but not before I return the favor and smash his windshield and side window.

OK, fine, this is my vigilante justice story. I posted it in '09 in the "what is grosser, puke or poop thread":
http://forum.calgarypuck.com/showpos...&postcount=116
Quote:
Has to be poop. We are tricked into thinking poop is less stinky than it really is. The toilet water really masks the smell. If you puke in a toilet it is virtually odor free, when you poop it still smells foul.
My best experience with this was when I was 18 and camping with some friends in the early 90's a Maclean Creek. There was a group of scabby headbangers in the site next to us that were giving us a really rough time, trying to pick fights with us all night, and one even pissed in my car window. We had to be out by 6 am because a couple of us worked that day. So at 6 in the morning we woke up, packed our stuff, and these guys were totally passed out in their tents. I had a five alarm deuce on deck touching cloth. So I went over to there picnic table, and dropped the nastiest beer, dorito, hotdogs and beans coiler on their hibachi. The smell was so foul and I was so hung over that I started to dry heave from the smell and ended up puking all over their lawn chairs. One other guy in our group puked from my puking and actually managed to hold it in until he made it all the way across the site and all over their cooler. It was so nasty, yet so funny. Never piss in my window is all I can advise anyone.
Wish I could've seen their faces that morning.
Needless to say we left fast.

About 15 years ago around 11pm I was at a red light and saw this car stopped ahead on the side of the road and a women got out the passenger door and the driver ran around the the side she got out and knocked her down and started smacking her on the ground.
I thought she was being attacked/ or maybe abducted so i drove up behind and got out grabbed the guy from behind in a choke hold until he was gagging and started beating him.
Turns out it was her loser boyfriend and told me to stop it.
So i grabbed his ear and twisted it and told you do not hit women ever. And kicked him in the ribs as hard as i could.
Vigilante justice 1 creep boyfriend 0.

Years ago I Came out of a 7-11 and saw a large guy with his girlfriend in a sleeper hold. I yelled at the guy to stop and pulled out my cell to call the police. In the meantime my buddy casually strolls up just as the guys gf drops to the ground out cold. The guy swings at my friend who ducks and one shots him. The big man is slumped against his car out cold beside his unconscious girlfriend.
We kind of panicked and drove off at that point. It probably didn't look good to eyewitnesses.

I am actually suprised at the cowards that call damaging a person's car a form of justice.
It is not justice you are just a chickensh.t and you are too lazy not to think of something better.
The victim needs to know who did it and why or it is just vandalism and you are a punk.
