This is great, when he doesn't say anything then we get all these threads saying "Where is Feaster? why isn't he commenting?"

He puts out a comment, and now people are saying, "Why is he even saying anything?"

And now you're just putting words in my mouth, I never said I like what he has done for the team. I really like what he's done with respect to scouting, I'm not the biggest fan of a couple of the trades and signings, Modin and Babchuk come to mind. I think it's too early to judge the return he got for Iggy and Bouwmeester, but I am happy he got a couple additional firsts.

1. I couldn't help thinking of Calgary when Jean-Sebastien Giguere ripped the Colorado Avalanche's give-a-care meter. The Flames were criticized for talking about playoffs next season because fans believed it showed a lack of commitment toward a true rebuild. Giguere was angry because no matter what a team's record, the players and the organization should never allow losing to become acceptable. When you're developing, say, a Sven Baertschi or a Nathan MacKinnon, that's the tone that must be set. Maybe "playoffs" wasn't the right word, but it's the right mentality.

I don't believe an organizational commitment to rebuilding is akin to accepting losing. It just means that they are starting over and they accept tough times may be ahead. The Flames have been criticized for taking the path of least resistance even though it's resulted in more or less the same failures as building a cup contender the right way. It doesn't mean players and coaches are instructed to lose it's just that they are expected to do more with less and if they cannot then next season more help will be added via the draft.

The Avalanche are past rebuilding and should be challenging for a playoff spot but it seems that the players no longer care about winning hockey games which IMO is a coaching and management issue as we all know that Sacco should have been fired last year but management kept a coach one or two years past his expiry date and the results are what you see on the ice with a 30th place team.
