TFP gives us this (mildly NFSW), and that is sufficient alone to make them WAY better than Eklund.

Make it happen, Feaster.
Though, we still need a damn 2nd rounder, Flames have no picks in the 2nd, gotta address that somehow.

Having 3 picks in the 1st round sorta makes up for that, don't you think?

Definitely worth a first round pick.

Ugh after reading this I can feel the sarcasm dripping off me like beads of sweat after a 10k run. And it feels about the same... awesome.

If Regehr can get two 2nd rounders, there is no way Sarich isn't worth a 2nd or 3rd rounder

Hmm, Was the Fourth Period who said the Kings are interested in Tanguay? plus we all know about Darryl Sutter and his obsession with his former players, a couple Stanley Cup rings also come along with Tanguay & Sarich...

If I am not mistaken the Flames are also missing their 5th (Wideman trade).
How bout Sarich for a 2nd, Babchuk for a 5th?
I think the Flames should be shopping all of the defencemen except T.J. Brodie. I would say it's the worst D in Flames history. It seems like just yesterday they had Regehr, Aucoin, Phaneuf, Warrener, Vandermeer, Ferrence, Hamrlik, Marchment. That's a tough D to play against. That's a D that won Mikka a Vezina. That's the type of D I want the Flames to rebuild.

I hope the Flames trade Sarich. Not because I hope he is gone, but because he is the type of player that does everything for a team to win, especially in the playoffs. Sarich elevates his game - Mr. Broken Foot but still the best defencemen in the playoffs.
I can definitely handle keeping him here - one of the few guys that can really mentor rookies well - ala Rhett with Regehr. However, if a team is interested, then let him go. I will wish him the best. One of the few Flames in the last 'x' amount of years whose heart was never questioned (though unfortunately lots of questions about his footspeed). Sarich is all heart and soul, and the closest thing this team has had to Ference since.

Yup he's a great leader and you definitely want the next generation of Flames defencemen learning from him.
I'd much rather they trade Butler and Smith and have Sarich play regularly this year and next, but Hartley seems to prefer a soft defence.

Which I find odd in a way, since Hartley is fairly well known to prefer gritty tough guys in the lineup mixed in with slick players. I think Hartley was probably instrumental in reacquiring McGrattan actually.

Agreed. Beginning of the end was losing Andy, to me. It was the right play, at the time, in theory, but sure buggered the chemistry and the team.

I do know he wanted to get traded, specifically when he wasn't playing games. Source in confidential, but I do know that.

Don't forget we have that extra 7th rounder from Chicago for Hank, but that's like an 8th rounder, right...??
So 1, 1, 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 7?
Add a 2 or 3 and 4 or 5 and I'm very happy!

I'd be happy if he could somehow gain one more 1st round pick. I doubt it, but you never know.

When Feast'r'Famine re-signed him to 2 years at 2 million per I just shook my head in disbelief. If he can get a 3rd round draft pick in return for Sarich I'll tip my hat to him.

You know that we're desperate for good news when a thread about Cory Freakin Sarich is 7 pages long.
