Unfortunately the Coyotes lose in the shootout.

No doubt they'll win the draft lottery.

jesus, i knew the Rangers were doing bad but i didn't realize they had the worst offense in the entire league. how does that even happen with a team sporting Nash, Gaborik, and Richards? they are officially the free agent curse. if you're a player who hits UFA, stay away from the Rangers if you want to stay relevant in the NHL

Kadri was a top 7 pick...

Yep. Schultz was actually leading the AHL in scoring, pretty crazy for a defenseman. Eberle was 2nd in points behind Schultz.

Schultz is actually still 24th in AHL scoring despite playing in the NHL since the season started.

Schultz also still leads all AHL defencemen in scoring (by 6 points).

Burke took a lot of heat and a lot of patience to stick with the guy.
I thought he was going to be nothing more then another overhyped Leaf prospect and was a bigger story because of the claims, sometimes with race involved, that he wasn't getting a fair shot etc. But Burke knew to stick with him, even if it meant the AHL until he was ready, and its paying off this year, at least.

Fata was a tough pick to justify that high, and rushed in far too quickly to boot. He ended up having a long career in hockey, just not a very memorable one, and though he wasn't the right pick, he didn't get that proper development either, as the Flames needed him in right away and to hit his upper limit potential right away too.

As bad as things seem now, back in the days of those drafts, and the talent that was on the ice, things were a lot worse hope wise.

Keeps coming back for me; do we have the right people involved in making the right decisions for this franchise, now, at the draft with a couple first round picks, and, going forward? Phase 1 is now done, letting go of one of our HOF'ers, Phase 2 should be done Wednesday, Phase 3 is post season and the draft....TBQH I'd like to have that Flames power structure more clearly defined and ideally changed, by the time of Phase 3.

I'm not sure why so many people sold him short so quickly after he was drafted. When we traded Phaneuf, a lot people thought that he should have brought back a prospect like Kadri, but there seemed to be as many people around here who didn't think Kadri was a good prospect... and that was only 6 months after being drafted. I'm glad he is proving his doubters wrong.

Because he was a Leafs pick.

As much as people like to throw around the BS that Leafs players are overrated amongst many fans and many on here Leafs players and prospects are underrated or dismissed because they are Leafs.
