Yes, I plan to withdraw from my foursome of buddies who share the tickets. Not because of the rebuild though, I wanted out last year but they asked me to stay in one more year.
I plan to put that money towards Stampeders' season tickets.

at the end of the day its your money and you can do whatever you want with it, it would just be sad to see an empty dome that is only full when its half Oilers, Canucks, Leafs, Habs, fans

I think there will be a good number of people who give up their seats, especially if they've had them for a while. You can get tired of season tix really quickly I think and it doesn't help to go through the season the Flames are having. That being said I'm going to look at getting some for next year (as long as Feaster doesn't eff up the draft), now that my broke student days are behind me. If we do this draft right we could have a team that's at least fun to watch play and grow.

It's pretty amazing the support the Flames currently have, being that they only passed the 1st round once in 20 years. The owners should feel lucky they have great fans in Calgary.

I think the idea is to partner up, who can make it to 45 games? Its harder to stomach a rebuild if you actually go to the games, you can't just turn the tv off.
That being said, I am staying the course.

Haven't the Flames raised prices close to every season for the last few years? That's what I find amazing and illuminating into their business acumen. They plateaued and declined and continued to raise prices. Way to read the tea leaves fellas. I feel like this organization in actuality does not much for fans to be honest. And why are fans shelling out such huge dollars? Because some ass player needs 4 million? Meanwhile in Anaheim it cost me $17 to get in the building... Which team is providing a better product? The Honda center is the ritz Carlton compared to the saddledome.
The Flames appear greedy and self grandizing. There is an arrogance around this franchise I don't like.

I wouldn't call it a rebuild. We only got rid of 3 major players. We still have a large roster of underachievers that we failed to trade at the deadline. It's a retool. Not a full rebuild.

This would be year 24, I believe. 23 if you don't want to count the lockout.

I would like the Flames ticket sales get STH in touch with people on the Hot House that would like to share games.
If i can not find that kind of arrangement we will definitely not be renewing which is a difficult decision but if family and friends don't want to go see this rubbish. There isn't really a point keeping them.
As it stands the Flames organization does nothing to provide this kind of service but they should considering the direction they have taken with their product and yet they "expect" their non corporate fan base to just stay investing in their product.
The corporate clients will likely remain as it is client/employee entertainment but for Joe fan it is not quite the same.
Would you re-invest in a stock or a fund over and over if it wasn't providing any positive results and instead was just taking your $ ?

I'm about done with mine. For years Ken King has said that in comparison to other forms of entertainment, they felt that a Flames game stacks up well. I agreed with that for a while, but lately I find I leave the Dome wishing I'd spent the money elsewhere.
This year I sold off 3/4 of my games and only attended about 6. At the beginning of the year I was sure I'd miss it terribly, but I find the mad passion I once had just isn't really there anymore. They're still my team and I'll cheer for them throughout Young Guns Phase 2, but I don't think attending the games is something I plan on doing anymore.

I hear ya. Hockey aside, the game day presentation is getting very, very old. Same songs, same host, same fan games (were people win the prize every time anyway). The food has changed up a bit which is nice but the games feel the same now as they did 10 years ago. The updated jumbotron is an improvement, I'll say that.

similar situation we sold on line about 40% of our games as i found friends and family did not want to attend many games after the first month.
So like i said what is the point carrying them i am not a charity. Kking seems to think we should just ignore the dismal on ice product and pretend everything is still 2004-2009

I also find it revolting how management speaks about our neighbors to the north as though they are complete fools when this franchise hasn't done squat in 20 years, sans one playoff run a decade ago.
Worse yet, we are force fed ticket price increases on an annual basis as a measure we are told is related to spending blindly to the cap every season. The product has stunk for 4 years now. If the Flames now end up spending near the floor I'd expect ticket price reductions or some degree to follow....or are we supposed to bite the bullet and further pad the franchises already deep pockets?
If I were buying a new car, I'd expect the base model to be cheaper then the fully loaded, luxury edition. Guess that rationale doesn't resonate with Flames brass though.

keeping ours...we spent too long on the wait list to give them up at this point. If the team gets to the point where there is no wait list, I may give them up at that point. Besides, the product is much more exciting under Hartley. They may lose, but at least they're more fun to watch.
Another thing is the new arena. I would suspect that tickets would be hard to come by once a new arena is in place.
Also, we don't attend every game. Too much time commitment. We keep all the weekend games and sell the rest...except for Pittsburgh next season

Yes they are, but if you don't mind the corners they are great value. I am in section 208 in the corner. If you cross the stairs from where I am from the greens into the white the tickets almost double in price. Greens in the corner are some of the best bang for your buck. I love the seats.

Over the last few years I have enjoyed my Stamps Ticks more than the Flames. Stamps games are a blast.

Supply and demand. Simple as that.
Betcha can't get tix to Lakers games. And certainly not cheaply if you can.
No one is forcing you to pay these prices; you can not do so and watch games on TV just fine. The Flames still make "something" off that, though clearly not as much.
And why do you pay $13 to go to movies? Because some dumbass actor wants to make $20 million per movie?
What you need to do is evaluate the bang for the buck. If you don't like it, don't buy it. If you do, go ahead. It's really not that difficult to figure out. And, as a consumer, your only REAL option to make a statement to management and ownership is not to purchase.

The one thing that has stopped me from upgrading to the greens, from first row in the blacks, is the proximety to the bathroom. Right now I can make it to the bathroom and back to my seat during a tv time out. I found when I sat in the greens years ago, it could take most of the intermission to go to the bathroom. That is where a new stadium will shine. Way shorter lines for concessions and bathrooms on concourses that are not jam packed with people.

Same here, if I can't make it, little demand for tickets. Last year, games went to waste, I expect the same will happen this year. I guess kids up front will be busy.
