Whatever Feaster gets, it won't be enough. Ever. And I expect it will include someone else's NCAA prospects....

You can read all the different local media guys thinking their team would have interest in Bouwmeester. You may be able to get the bidding war going here (assuming Bouwmeester will go to these teams of course).

I don't think JBO will re-sign with the flames. It's really looking like the flames will be out of the playoffs for many years. That's not a bad thing, i just don't think JBO will want to go another 3 years without playoffs.

They need to trade him by summer at the latest. They can't get into the same situation that the Iggy situation got to.

I hope they trade Jay Bouw because I really do not think he would want to re-sign in Calgary after next season.
No. If we have any shot at Mackinnon we'd better take it. We just traded our last franchise player because we could never find him a true number one centre. I don't want to spend the next 16 years with the same god damn problem.

No, we'll be looking for the infamous right winger now.

I feel like we should try to pick up Shinkaruk especially. A Calgary born captain. That's the kind of upcoming player this fanbase needs, someone we feel can really rep the city.

But of course, still only pebbles trying to fill the crater that Iginla has left.

The guy is one of the best defenseman never to make the playoffs. Plus he's a freakin' Iron Man.

Speed, endurance, good positioning and can pot a few goals. This is something many playoff teams are going to hunt for.

Bouw brings a lot to this team. If he goes I would consider that a blow-up. I would expect almost more of a return then we got from Iggy. Less sentimental value for flames fans tho, which is a good thing.

I agree. It really depends on the return. On the other hand, Gio could garner a big return. He has been heavily sought after for a few years now but unavailable for trade. I think that alone could make certain GMs jump. Despite the year he has had, who wouldn't want this guy as a part of a playoff push? Go forward with Wideman, Jbo, and Brodie. Flames have some really interesting D prospects right now, and I think a guy like Wotherspoon could slide in and be a solid 3/4 guy in the next couple years, but we don't have a future Jbo in the system.

That being said, this is based on my thoughts that you can get similar trade value out of Gio as Jbo. If someone offers the moon for Jbo, you do it.

I can, though maybe not this year. He's looked not nearly the player he was since D. Sutter left. He better pick it up within the next year or he'll be on his way out before his contract is done, no matter what happens with Bouwmeester.

If he gets traded and holds a press conference, it will be 2 hrs long.
