Have to think that Vancouver will give up their 1st and a prospect for help down the middle. I wonder if they get really desperate if they would trade Schneider and keep Luongo instead? Gillis is never getting anything close to what he wants for Luongo.

Mis-handled horribly by Gillis in my opinion. He has to trade Schnieder or trade Lu for peanuts. He will be what 34 next season with 9 years left. A $64M cap and 9.3M tied up in goaltending Vancouver will be in a severe position of weakness. There will be no bidding war for that Luongo contract and goalies like Kipper, Bernier, Miller may be on the trade market not to mention Backstrom is a UFA. Van is likely going to try and add a top 6 forward by the deadline but I see a team in steady decline with an old core and shallow prospect pool. Kesler is broken and the Sedins have come back to earth after a couple of unreal seasons. Flames have more regulation wins and can pull within 4pts with a win on Monday

You know how everyone says the Flames should have blown it up 4 years ago?

Can I say that about the Canucks now? They should blow it up today.

You know its a good signing when you have to pull out highlights from last year to show his shot.

If they falter this year, they should think about it. I rather they didn't. I take a lot of heat from nuck fans on Calgary not blowing it up. I would love to see the canucks do the same, giving me years of verbal ammo.

They should if they miss the playoffs this year but we are getting a bit ahead of ourselves here

Well I suppose now is when you'd get the most value from many of the players. But when do you see teams in the playoffs trade off multiple players? The Canucks chance to win the cup has passed in my opinion. Still a playoff calibre team, and can be for 4-5 more years. But to win it all they will need new core players to emerge and replace the Sedins.

I don't like the Canucks, but those maroon Millionaires jerseys were pretty cool tonight. I'm a fan of the Flames HC jersey but these ones I think touched on the same concept as the HC but the end result was better..imo

The colours are nice, but the rest of the jersey is a clusterfata. And the colours don't even really work jersey-wise and looked almost black on (my admittedly terrible) TV.

I went to bed after the second period (doesn't seem like I missed much) - but those are some actually pretty sharp jerseys, although I think having some more simple piping on the arms would look better. In terms of third jerseys though that would rank near the top of the league... which isn't hard when you consider the majority of them are completely awful.

Like them or not, it'll be funny to see the flood of them hit the stands in Vancouver and just add to the confusing and ADD that is the Vancouver audience.

When you watch a Canucks game in Vancouver it's always funny seeing 20+ different jerseys, all of the same team.

So Nash, Dal and SJ lost, and Phx lost in SO. Not bad.

Also Van lost, so that pretty much makes it a good day.

Vancouver's in that quandrey right now. They've slipped into the second level of contenders. I think that they know that they probably aren't going to beat a Blackhawks, Ducks or Kings team in a extended playoff round.

The Canucks had Cup aspirations so they might have to take a roll of the dice. I don't think Loungo with his age and contract is going to garner the return that they would want. They could trade CS but that would be a long term mistake.

they have a worse prospect pool then the Flames and that says a lot, so they have to be really careful about trading that first round pick, and they don't have that prospect that is going to bring in what they need.

The Canucks are heading into the same spiral as the Flames, should be interesting to watch.

Gilles had the benefit of inheriting a strong core and a fairly young core at the time, is he more then a caretaker GM? We'll soon find out.

And those jersey's were god awful, just saying.

Have you ever bothered to watch Evander Kane in action? At 21, he is our most talented player. Don't ever contemplate becoming a GM. You will make Mike Milbury look like Lou Lamoriello.
