Doubt Lehtenon or anyone could have saved those three 3rd period hard working garbage goals.

Obviously the primary positive is that they won but this continues to be a very tough team to gauge.
Liked the lines at the end a lot more with Tanguay with Cammaelleri and Iginla and the Czechs together. Hudler and Cervenka are going to generate offense regardless of who they are with whereas Iginla has been so quiet this year so get those two guys with him. Certainly Comeau wasn't going to do the trick and I have never thought Glencross and Iginla play well together.
Thought Glencross had one of his grittier games. He has scored this year but I think his grinding style has not been prevalent enough at least until tonight. This team has no top nine forwards who consistently bring it physically so Glencross really needs to fill that void. He seems to understand this better when playing on less offensive line though ironically his grinding it out played a big role in the Stajan goal.
That big Comeau hero experiment centering Iginla sure didn't last long though ironically again that line gave the team the winning goal. Jackman though, what the hell does this guy bring to the table? Still will never forget him almost getting traded at the deadline then inexplicably resigned.
Thought Butler played very well tonight and seems to have gotten himself that #5 spot. Babchuk on the other hand is beyond useless. He has a big shot that we rarely see. That's all he has going for him (for 2.5M).
Bouwmeester the best Flame and I have no problem saying he has been the best Flame this season. Jumping into the rush a ton but also very very effective defensively. He is kind of symbolic of the team's defensive zone disaster in that he is usually struggling for 5-10 minutes a game which is when the team gets scored on several times.
Certainly the terrible goaltending is a big factor in why this team gives up goals in bunches. If you look at the first and third periods, they gave up very few scoring chances. The Flames are going to need to score a lot of goals over the next couple of weeks because there is no way they are winning any 2-1 or 3-2 games any time soon with this goaltending and the dramatic inconsistency of the team defensively.
I still don't understand how this team can be built so flawed down the middle and think it is an enormous problem that is glaring a fair amount - definitely a significant factor in the team's poor defensive play. You just cannot turn two wingers into centers and expect to be able to shutdown other teams.
This team is weird and definitely different than any Flames team we have seen in a long time. They are not at all physical and don't really grind it out but they have a lot of scoring depth. Not really any top end talent but all kinds of offensive threats which I think has made them kind of hard to play against.

Was going to post as I don't want to big the poster who only vents after a loss but you hit the big points
Czechs good
Stemps-Staje-Glenny good
Butler played well in his #5 D slot
Bouw continues to impress
MacDonald good enough to win
Good to see contribution from the fourth line - would Jones have buried that like Begin did?

Bouw looked to be like the workhorse tonight. Got the first star @ nhl.com and put up 28 + minutes for the first time since the 3rd game of the year though he's put up 27 + two other times including last game against the Blues. I am really digging his game this year, I hope he continues to settle into how he's currently playing.

It seemed to me like Stajan was on the ice a lot more than the 14:35 he logged. He should be getting 18+ at the very least.

Yeah, I don't mean contender good but this team has rarely scored a bunch of goals or came back from a couple down unless it was Iginla being a big part of it for the last decade.
This team is reminding of the middle 80's flames teams, scoring from everywhere but couldn't stop it either...love it!!

Bouwmeester is turning out to be our best defenceman. Not sure what Hartley did to get the offensive side out of him but it's working. He looks more confident with the puck compared to the previous 3 years.
I really hope Brent Sutter has been watching our games and witnessing what Bouwmeester is doing.
A close second has to be TJ Bordie. I never expected the kid to blossom this quickly. He looks like a seasoned vot out on the ice. Oozes confidenceat both ends of the ice.

I really hate to blow my own horn but I have always said Jbows poor play was the product of Sutter hockey, he wouldn't dare rush the puck out of position or get down low under Sutter...Jay has new life and natural game under Hartley.

Really would like to see Stajan get a shot with Iginla and Tanguay tomorrow even though the Glencross/Stajan/Stempniak was a great combo tonight for us. Your top guy needs to get your top minutes and Stajan has been the most reliable center for this team thus far. I think you almost have to give the guy a shot to get Jarome going again, he's worked his ass off to go from the top line all the way down the 4th line/pressbox and back up to solid minutes and contributions this year. He started his first full year here with 15 assists and a goal in his first 20 or so games playing mostly with Tangs/Iggy before getting layed out by Mark Staal.
Lines I would like to see start tomorrow:
Tanguay - Stajan - Iginla
Hudler - Horak - Cervenka
Glencross - Cammalleri - Stempniak
Comeau - Begin - Jackman
Bouw/Gio
Brodie/Wides
Butler/Sarich

Impressive comeback, Bob got the line combos right in the third. Begin should play with a Bane mask.

I really want to thank Wideman and think he deserves a lot of credit for the emergence of TJ. He is the perfect mentor for Brodie and I think if Brodie can figure out how to time his shots like Wideman does we will have a great pairing for years to come.

Who was it that said Begin doesn't really mean a lot to this team? I think he's shown his worth in his 8 games of work thus far, he's willing to battle, has tonnes of speed, will fight and can get the occasional chance, burying one finally tonight. He is one of the very few true blue energy guys on our team right now and I think he gives us valuable minutes.
Threw in a couple hits, a fight and a goal and 8 minutes of pretty solid hockey last night. He's averaging 8 minutes of high tempo hockey every night and needs to be commended for his hard work so far I think, you can tell the guy wants to stay in the line-up and if he plays his game like the one he did tonight I'll be happy to have him in the line-up.

This team might just make the playoffs if:
1. Iggy gets going
2. Giordano starts contributing offensively
3. Goaltending doesn't lose us games
Also, hurry back Backlund and Sven.

I am all for Bouwmeester being the most improved, Brodie being a bright up and comer but I really believe Wideman has been our best defenseman this year. He plays against top compeition (leading the team in mins played until the last couple games), dominating on the PP (Top 5 in the league) and wracking up the points (10 in 13 games).. all the while providing the mentorship to Brodie. Best FA signing of the year.

Backs has been sorely missed which is a good/bad thing. It finally shows CP that he shouldn't be a player we should give up on because he isn't as flashy as everyone first anticipated. I have been a supporter of Backlund from the start and have projected him to be a player very similar to Ryan Kesler (without the ######baggery of course) in many different posts through out the last year or so and he was right on track this year up until the injury. Cannot wait to have him back in the line-up.
