I had a guy come by a couple days ago, and it took 2 days just to setup a time. So I give him the exact address, and I see him crawl by, I open the door and wave at him. He keeps going. So I text him, to turn around, and he does, so I stand there waving...and he crawls on by. Tell him to turn around, and he asks if I am the place on the corner. I say yes, and I see him coming. Great. I wave, and he keeps going! Send him another text to stop, I am directly behind him. He backs up, and FINALLY sees me.

He then says, "it was hard to see the house numbers." What about the guy jumping up and down in the door next to the house number? Did you see that, you idiot? All for a $25 chair.

Just had a guy who bought a Jeep from me privately 6 months ago ask for some money back because the ECM is dead.

Me: Did you boost it?

Him: Yes, twice.

Me: Even in the long shot I would be stupid enough to give you money back, how many kms have you put on it?

Him: About 12,000

Me: So you put 12,000 kms on a 14 year old Jeep that you bought privately with 130,000 kms on the odo at time of sale, and you declined to get it inspected when you bought it.... something I encouraged you to do, have since boosted it twice, and likely backwards since you now have a dead ECM, and now you want me to pay for you to fix it? Do I have this clear?

Him: Yeah. Pretty much.

Me: Did you bump your head over Christmas?

How do you wreck the ECM by boosting it? Do you need to do more than pos, pos, neg, ground boost?

Hooking up the cables backwards can cook them. Go out and try on your car.

Neg-Pos and Pos-Neg and lemme know the result.

Yeah, best case scenario you just blow a few fuses. But you more than likely fry something very important

If you want to know what happens...I did it once.... It was cold, dark, battery old and corroded and misread the + and -. The newer vehicle was fine, the old battery started to hiss and some of the plastic on the terminal melted. The vehicle was fine though. No blown fuses or anything. I was kind of shocked nothing really bad happened.

No they are just stock rims. They are my only set of wheels and ya did not mention a second set in the add.

So far I have been pretty lucky on kijiji, this is the first weird request other than the low ballers.

Need an extra Bell receiver, found one in the SW and message the guy, He agrees to price, done.

I ask for address, he responds with "let's meet in the Sobey's parking lot".

Please, I'm not going to wander around a parking lot looking for someone. Give me an address, I'll put it in my phone and be in and out within 2 mins.

Told him to forget it.

That's not very uncommon. I recently bought a ski rack meeting in a lowes parking lot, no problem. Just tell them what car you're driving and it's easy.

It's for safety.

A lot of people don't want strangers coming to their house.

I'm actually surprised at how many people are deathly afraid of a stranger knowing where they live.

You'll seek out an address but won't find a vehicle on the edge of a parking lot?

I'm in the process of finding a used car and it's amazing that it's about 75% that can't figure out how to post a proper picture. Most are sideways, upside down or more focused on the tree next to the car.
