Simply remarkable what he has done. By far the greatest Olympian of all time.

Soccer is on OLN (37) or Omni HD (213), but not in English on Omni.

Tadese looks like he's going to pass out, no way he can keep that pace for 12 more laps.

Farrah looks like he's going for a summer stroll. The last lap is going to be great.

If I were running it I would make all the other events wait until I have finished. Slowly walk the race at just under 2 hours! Surely the 100m runners won't mind waiting...

greatest swimmer of all time, no doubt. it's quite unfair to proclaim him the greatest Olympian of all time though when he can win so many medals in a single year by doing one sport. compared to something like the heptathlon or decathlon where only a single medal is awarded to the winner after competing in so many different events

That was a remarkable scene. An entire stadium celebrating and singing along to the Beatles with Sir Paul McCartney in the stadium with them. If you were a Brit being in that stadium this night would likely be one of the great moments of your life.

nope...i will stand by greatest olympian...and by a mile. Is there a decathalete who wins every event? If there was i would be more inclined to agree.
How many running distances are there? 10? No one can come anywhere near his medal total.
Hell he has twice as many gold medals as the next best olympian has total medals IIRC.

It is because of the social media stuff or because of the girl?
The french one is less annoying.

Correction
He has twice as many golds as the next olympian has golds. 18 to 9. It took his 19th total medal to break the record for most medals.
I agree with your stance though, greatest olympian ever.

decathlon events are so wildly varied that they cover every type of speed, endurance and coordination. a water decathlon would have to be composed of swimming, diving, synchronized swimming, water polo...hell I can't even think of 10 events in the water period, let alone 10 invididual ones.
If a water decathlon did exist and Phelps won it (in addition to his swimming medals) then I'd call him the greatest Olympian of all time.
