Actually, I didn't come up with. I swore I saw it on an article, maybe even linked on CP, and yeah.

I know this is a long shot but does anyone have any video of Mark playing in the high school league so we can get a feel for his skills?

There's little online.

I'll try to dig more up later, but the first thing that pops up is his NHL draft video

The short clip starts at 0:49

Awesome interview with the Jankowski boys following the draft...

(As someone who has fumbled through their share of interviews, I gotta say Rob Kerr is a total pro!)

Any interview that is heavily edited will seem great

Is this tongue in cheek? Kerr may be a terrible PBP guy, but he has always been an excellent interviewer. As for the editing, I'm not convinced that piece is nearly as polished as you suggest. I personally thought it was excellent, and it is nice to see a fresh perspective from family members that is especially enhanced by Kerr's professionalism.

Can we officially get the thread title changed to 'The Big Jankowski'?

That's way better than the standardized 'freakin'.

And to think some Flame fans mocked Oil fans for calling RNH "the Nuge".
Fans here are also tripping over themselves trying to apply a nickname to a player at least 4-5 years out. Good for you, I don't care but .......

Oiler fans were mocked because they dragged out Nuge like Canucks fans do Looooooooooou.

Therefore, it's deserved.

What are all those animal nicknames the Canucks gave each other? Wolf? HoneyBadger? Whitetail?

They shoulda been so lucky to have CP create cool nicknames for them that are a little less.....gay.....

I don't think flames fans rip the name "the nuge" but what I can't stand is the luongo style cheer they do when he has the puck. Similar to the Loob cheer the flames fans has decades ago I am just not a fan of any of it

Why not get excited about him now? Sure he is years out but with the Internet and social media we will be able to watch his development closely over the next few years

Speak for yourself. It's crappy.

Because it is a stupid nickname, and not at all clever or interesting like CP classics "Scoreface" or "Okatoker". "The Big Jankowski" is right along the same lines, and not nearly as puerile as so many stale, predictable Oilers standbys like "Nuge", "MPS", "D Pens", "Horcs", etc.

I thought The Nuge was a fine nickname. It was obvious yes, but you have to go there with that name. Anything else would be uncivilized.

I believe the best CP nickname/alternate spelling is "Whore-cough".

The Big Jankowski is a lot better than "the Nuge". Seriously? The Nuge? Really? That's like if Flames fans would call Jankowski, "The Kow". Lame.
