Fans of the Calgary Flames might be cheering Sven Bartschi's name next season. On Tuesday night, though, he made fans of the Kelowna Rockets groan in disbelief.
Quote:
"We have the series on our stick next game," Bartschi said. "If we keep playing the same way, it's going to be good for us. We might be able to go home and get some rest. But there's still a game we have to win, and we want to win it. We're really looking forward to Game 4."
Quote:
"I liked our effort," said Rockets head coach Ryan Huska. "But it was the same thing; you make a bad decision against a good line like that and they make you pay. What's been a struggle for us is trying to find a way to contain that line."

Baertschi is definitely the catalyst of that Winterhawk team... hopefully they`ll make it far enough in the playoffs so they name him MVP.

Sven and wotherspoon are tied for highest +/- in the WHL playoffs as of right now , both at +7. WHL Facts ‏ @WHLFacts Reply Retweet Favorite · Open
6 - WHL Top 6 in Playoff Plus/Minus: S.Bärtschi (+7), T.Wotherspoon (+7), J.Martinook (+6), K.McNaughton (+6), M.Noebels (+6), T.Rattie (+6)
Being called up the the NHL might have helped svens defensive game...

I'm a big Kootenay Ice fan, and it sucks that they're going to be down 3-0 in the series, but it might be a blessing in disguise: now the Heat can add Reinhart for a playoff run!

Agreed... He really moves his feet, smart to boot, excited to see how he looks at a quicker pace

Think they'll sign Leach as well? Better question, can they? Does it put them over the 50 contracts list, or are they allowed to sign him on an PTO?

They can sign Leach as his contract won't count until next season. Both Leach and Rhinehart would sign AHL tryout contracts to make everything good. They might just sign Leach to an AHL PTO to see if he can earn a NHL contract. This is just a guess as I haven't heard why the Flames haven't signed him yet.

Rough night for Max Reinhart's stick. Ice centre gets a penalty, smashes stick against the glass. Gets tossed, throws stick down the ice.

Looking forward to seeing Ferland's skill and toughness with the Flames very soon too. Potential to be a Lucic type player.

The way Reinhart reacted, I sure hope it was well deserved. I don't want one of those types of players on the Flames. That reaction is odd to hear about because Reinhart is usually a fairly level-headed player. He doesn't even get excited when he scores a goal.

With the game spiraling away from the Ice, Max Reinhart — the oldest of the three brothers playing in the series — got thrown out of the game at 13:22. He was whistled for roughing and smashed his stick off the glass on his way to the penalty box, which earned him the game misconduct. He threw his stick to the end of the ice as he went to the bench.

Don't know what fueled that reaction ... his last WHL game if the Ice are eliminated tonight - not the best way to end it.

Is it just me or has Reinhart failed to take the step forward many of us hoped this season? I will admit I don't pay that much attention other than these boards.
