Eww even visiting TMZ I feel dirty, oh well to save you having to go there here´s the gist of it.
Quote:
The mastermind behind the now-famous "Kony 2012" video was detained by police in San Diego yesterday for allegedly being drunk in public and masturbating.
Jason Russell was taken into custody by San Diego cops. In addition to allegedly masturbating, cops say he vandalized cars.
Cops told NBC7 in SD they received several calls around 11:30 AM ... reporting a man in "various stages of undress."
Sources tell us ... Russell was dancing around the Intersection of Ingraham and Riviera wearing "speedo-like underwear" ... and eventually removed the underwear and began to make sexual gestures.
We're told ... it appeared Russell was under the influence of some kind of substance.
Cops told NBC, "Officers detained [Russell] and transferred him to a local medical facility for further evaluation and treatment."
Speaking of learning new things, so not only was this orginization heavily funded by evangelical right wing groups, Russell himself is a devout evangelical who seeks to get people to Christ through emotional means hidden as something else other than religion.
Odd.... Also Gaydar on high alert for this video...
The Kony2012 video was released 10 DAYS AGO. Two weeks ago we hadn't even heard of this guy. But in 10 freaking days he went from a nobody, to a hot topic meme, to a disgraced 'celebrity'. Just astounding how fast that all happens.

Jason Russell was detained by police and then taken to a medical facility suffering from exhaustion, dehydration, and malnutrition. Apparently the last couple of weeks has taken a severe mental toll on the man.
It's as easy as that. Joseph Kony and his PMC have been doing their dirty work for nearly 30 years. Do you really think that this is going to do anything? Kids being sent to war/being raped is seriously no worse than Afghanistan, Africa, Iraq, Iran, The middle east, the other Islamic nations, and so on.
So you've got an 8 year old girl, skipping through a field, trying to enjoy what her life is in a war torn world in Afghanistan. She steps on a mine. Her legs get blown off. She dies, and her family, already taken a huge toll on by poverty and possible killing of other females, arrests of fathers, etc, has to deal with a missing daughter, and they are unaware of her state. They find out, a week later, she got killed by a mine. You don't see 14-23 year olds sending out tweets about that in hopes that the government will do something. Putting up posters. No, no you don't.
I do, however, feel something does need to be done. I think kids in Uganda need to be treated, they need to fix up everything. I think they should do something practical. Putting posters up and ransacking a city overnight is NOT the way to do it. Maybe a petition of a few million signatures would do something. It has before and will again. Vandalizing your city will do nothing but turn into a riot.
Something needs to be done, and fast, but not via tweets, facebook, and vandals.

Welcome to the party, did you remember to bring the dip?
Here's a quick look at Uganda's history......for some perspective of how guys like Kony pop up in many 3rd world countries....
Kony is really a nobody, ...this Invisible Children video is a propaganda front to get popular support for a NATO invasion of Uganda and other areas where there is a need to "protect civilians". This would allow AFRICOM to get their foot in the door so to speak. Interestingly, there's lots of valuable resources throughout Africa, including rare earth metals, oil etc. I suspect that the ultimate side benefit here is to limit China's influence and business deals in the region.
Some perspective from someone who has been to Uganda...and has many family members in Uganda.
