Other than Beautiful Mind, The Best Picture Oscar Winners for the past decade were way overrated
While I agree that most of the best picture winners of the past decade are overrated, A Beautiful Mind is up there with the most overrated of them all.

I really don't understand VANFLAMESFAN's tastes at all.
Disregard my like for the Transformers and Michael Bay(and remember, I said like, as in they're fun rides, not "I think they're great movies") and my taste in movies and tv shows is relatively ordinary.

Boomtown. Only lasted one season, technically two seasons, but they ruined the appeal of the show for the second season. They told the story in a non-linear way showing the view point from different aspects of a crime. The uniformed officer, the detective, the lawyer, the paramedics and the press.

Overrated: Entourage. I know it's really popular and I was late to the party, maybe my expectation was too high since everyone said it's so good. I watched the first half dozen or so episodes, it's Sex and The City for men, I don't see the appeal.
The appeal is because Ari Gold is one of the best fictional characters ever written. I'd love to see a spinoff show that was just about him and his agency. I don't care at all about Vince and the boys.
Overrated: Always felt like "Everybody Loves Raymond" was annoying as hell. Everytime I saw it on TV, it was just a bunch of people making goofy faces for laughs, same thing with "Full House".
Underrated Movies: I thought "Get Smart" and "Role Models" were both pretty good.

As much as I love math, I think the whole concept of A Beautiful Mind stole heavily from "Shine".
I saw a movie recently I hadn't heard much if anything about and I consider myself kind of a moviephile (though it's possible this one slipped through the cracks and is widely regarded as great)
Jack Nicholson in Chinatown (1974) - again, I'm trying to post something that isn't one of the trendy unseen films and I think everyone should check this out.

I'm sorry, but terrible terrible post. Any credibility you thought you had was instantly washed away when you said "Your Highness", "Land of the Lost" and "Cop Out" are underrated.
Your Highness is one of the stupidest POS movies I have ever watched in my lifetime (and this coming from someone who loves Franco and enjoys McBride), and Land of the Lost was about as unforgettable as they come (again, coming from someone who loves Will Ferrell).
I hate to make a post personal, but come on man, you need to get better tastes in comedies specifically.
And Moon as over-rated? How Sam Rockwell didn't get any Oscar nomination or anything for his role is a complete joke. If anything Moon is under-rated, that movie is amazing.

Ummm....Chinatown is pretty widly recognized as being one of the best movies of all time. And given all the hooplah around Polanski, I don't know how this film could slip beneath anybody's radar.
Chinatown is probably one of the most talked about films over the last 40 years.
I don't know why it took me this long to remember, but of the past couple years, when it comes to over-rated movies the top of the list has to go to:
The Hangover
I'm not saying the movie is bad, nor am I saying it isn't funny, but it has absolutely no replay value. Every laugh in that movie is a 1-time site gag that get's old after 1 viewing. After 2 watches, there are maybe 2 parts that I'll still laugh at. I cannot understand how people love that movie was so much. There are so many better comedies out there than this one.

I really wonder how anyone could think Frasier is underrated. An 11 year run, one of the top two-or-three comedies in ratings for most of its run, 37 prime-time Emmies (the most of any TV show ever) including five-straight best comedy awards... And tops on critic lists for most of it's run. I'm not saying it's not a good comedy (it is), but if it's underrated, what other honours from the public, critics, or awards do you think it should have received?

Also, on the Wire, I think either you get it or you don't. I'm currently re-watching the entire series, and am halfway through season 3. I didn't find it hard to get into at all, I found all the characters very watchable, both law enforcement and gangsters. They also were in it for the long haul, introducing major players once and then losing them for the rest of the season until it was their turn for a bigger role in the series.
I loved Kids in the Hall, it was the shear attention to detail across every facet of the sketch, from the intricate camara work to the costumes that took what was fairly ordinary humour and elevated into something special.
