Can we just change the thread title to:

"Ranking the Canadian teams anytime the Jets win a couple in a row to pass Calgary".

Too long?

That is purely a coincidence.

I am oblivious to when the Jets pass the Flames in the standings.

Pot meet kettle. I realize there's some animosity towards the Jets here but no Winnipeg fans ever consider the Jets "mighty". Give it a rest.

lol.

You should have been here when any member (including myself), brought up the possibility of the NHL return to Winnipeg. I would get eaten alive!

I hate the fact that the Flames are always near the middle because it means they're never really getting better. Sure, they're getting better then the previous year, but so is everyone elese. Being at the bottom of the list (and standings) usually means you'll bounce back up but when you stay constantly mediocre all it means is more boring hockey

Sounds like my own personal experience just talking with friends and family. Even my Dad thought I was crazy always holding out hope that the Jets would come back.

The Canucks are on a roll, Leafs and Sens look to stay in the playoff hunt. Jets are rebounding after a disastrous January, and Oilers have been terrible.
How is that even possible less than 48 hours removed from January (at the time you posted)?

I guess he felt that a 2 game win streak was a rebound. I saw it as a start of a possible rebound.

Jets have a long ways to go and I'm ok about honest about it. More scoring is needed, and we have the cap space to make that happen.

It is interesting to see the SENS at the top of this list when most at the beginning were picking them last, even below the oilers.... amazing what can happen in any given season.

Good to see a couple of Canadian teams will make the playoffs, I guess I will keep my fingers crossed that the Flames can make it in as well.

I don't care about any other Canadian team making the playoffs. Its not like I would shift my team allegiance during the playoffs to another Canadian team if the Flames don't make the playoffs.

I hold the fanbases in Vancouver, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Ottawa, Toronto and Montreal with an equal level of contempt that I hold every other fanbase not wearing the black and red of the Flames.

I would like to see the Sens make the playoffs. At this point I don't think they will, but I like them more than most teams. I'm indifferent about Winnipeg and I hope Vancouver, Edmonton, Toronto and Montreal miss the playoffs every year for the rest of their existence. Although Vancouver has been having another good year.

You seriously don't hate the Vancouver Canucks fanbase more than say, Minnesoda's?

I don't recall the city of Winnipeg going up in flames after losing their team to the Red Wings. Or Portage and Main being torn apart after the loss to the Lions.

Vancouver sports fans are a special breed of contemptible losers.

Actually, they have been playing terrible lately. They got "taken to school" be Detroit (Vigneault quote), and only played 1 period against Chicago and Colorado, needed a shootout to beat Edmonton.

Schneider and Luongo have been phenomenal, however, and have enabled Vancouver to go 6-2-2 since the Boston game.

But tellingly, of the 6 wins, only 1 has been in regulation...
