McCormack's characterization of Sisko was fair, but his/her take on Garak was bang-on: he's deliciously witty and cunning. In addition, the author captured the essence and feel of the show quite well, particularly some of the darker tones and complexity that DS9 offered--but it also wanders aimlessly at times.

As far as Star Trek prose that's out there, this is of the higher quality stuff. It's been some time since I read it and I can't recall the plot exactly, but I scored it an 7.5/10 on the inside cover . . . and I'm pretty harsh on Trek lit.

It's a fluffy book that can be torn through in an afternoon if interested.

Wow, epic thread killer above. My apologies.

New screenshot, roll your mouse over it to see a comparison of a remastered shot from Encounter at Farpoint and the original. It really has me excited, and the first seasons of TNG were pretty weak.

I think we can all thank Edward Jellico for making Deanna wear a real uniform and thus unleashing her actual attractiveness.

Well she's not Claudia Black or Nicole de Boer attractive. But she was Gene's contribution to TNG's sex appeal.

Because let's fact it. Gene Roddenberry was a dirty old man.

I just got season 1 of this yesterday, and it is spectacular. I can't wait to get the other seasons once they are done. I would definitely recommend this.

Season 2 should be ready for release near Christmas. It'll apparently have a 20 minute longer version of Measure of a Man (the one where Picard argues with Riker on whether Data is alive or just a machine)

I can't believe that I didn't watch the episode with pircards flute until a few months ago. I grew up with that show and consider myself a bit of a trekkie/die hard. So not only getting to watch a new episode-but one of the best the show made- was pretty amazing. I felt like a kid again.

Stewart made the show really. He's a truly gifted actor. Glad to see there's still demand for this stuff.

Inner Light - I had a single tear after watching that episode.

Patrick's interview on the Captains was great. By far the best IMO. He talks about how serious of an actor he was and how TNG taught him to relax and enjoy the moment. Avery Brooks was a freaking loon, however!

What?! I had no idea it was out, getting the keys and getting over to the store ASAP. The picture quality looks beautiful.

It's 79.99 at Futureshop. I'm trying to decide if I should rent or wait for the inevitable set once the whole series is out.
