Well in my case the internet is not working so I have no other choice.

I've never tweeted. No interest in it. Plus I had the phone on speaker while I was doing other things. Pretty surprised how long it took though.

You guys are making me quite concerned about having to deal with them in the coming weeks.

If you don't care if you actually talk to someone try the tweet option some of the guys are talking about. Sounds like it worth a try.

So after my year at $89 I called Shaw to see what they could do for me. As many have said, they are not willing to budge on promotions at this point. I don't use my internet that much for downloading so I went from the extreme to the regular high speed and picked only two theme packs from the list. They give me one theme pack for free for 6 months so my bill will now be $94 as I also cancelled my home phone that I never use.

So they switch me to my new plan but they screw up and selected the wrong theme pack that I wanted. Had to call them back.

Now I see I was billed for $165 dollars for whatever reason so I will be calling them back this morning. What a joke, seriously.

I work as a Telus winback agent and i have been busy but very little wait time to switch to Optik TV 310-5588 is the quickest way to call in. Customers have been telling me of a 4 hour wait times with Shaw. Oh and there is a free centre ice promo atm.

I would switch to Telus in an instant if they could give me enough boxes. Hell, I don't want a laptop I want 4 boxes!

Just wanted to jump in and say I had a fairly positive experience yesterday with them. I waited about 40 minutes to get somebody on the online chat. They were very helpful. I managed to go from my current promo of regular internet/home phone/standard HD with sports for $80 to crazy fast internet/no phone/standard HD with sports/ for $94. It isn't great, but my price only goes up $14 and my internet gets a huge boost, plus I get another HD receiver (already own my current one). Losing the phone kinda sucks, but as my wife pointed out the only people who call me are political candidates or people in India telling me they work for microsoft and that my Mac is sending them error messages.

Honestly, I dont think it is an actual promo. I am sure my plan is the same (except we have phone so the price isnt the same) and we just built ours with the Plan personalizer thing.

I ended up getting it and it's sweet!!

upgraded internet, home phone and HD plus (all HD Channels except Oasis and HD NET) for $99/month for 3 years for the Gateway and 2 portals

Sunday is the install.

btw, they told me the modem they install has wireless capabilities so no other hardware is needed.

After all my bitching and moaning about their customer service, the last 3 calls I have had with them they have been very helpfull. The Twitter @shawhelp is very good! you tweet your problem and they will get back to you.

I had a question on what channels I was actually going to receive yesterday and I sent tehm a message on twitter and they actually sent teh CSR that set up my the gateway promo for me an email telling him to call me. 2 hours later he called my cell and then sent me an email confirming what channels I will be receiving.

So were you a previous customer of Shaw and if so were you on a promotional deal prior to this?

yes and yes my promo was to end at the end of October.

Keep in mind this was after hearing "there's nothing we can do for you. This promo is only for new customers" 3 times.

I finally got someone who deceided they could give it to me as an existing customer

If I have two standard def TV's (bedroom and exercise room) can I continue to use my digital box and then use the portals with my 2 HDTV's?

If you check out Shaw's plan personalizer (https://shawpersonalizer.ca/) you might be surprised at the price you can get. My old plan was quite standard (a few perks) and regularly ran about $160. With the new structure the basic service (broadband 50, hd standard and home phone) is $100.

I had Shaw come in and install my HD pvr and receivers last night. I only ordered the Broadband 50 package, plus sports 1. So after my promo is over, I pay $110 per month. Funny thing is though, for some reason I have access to every channel except for the PPV stuff. Like I even have access to all the multicultural channels, every single one of them. I'm thinking should I just leave it alone and enjoy it while it lasts (however briefly), or should I actually call them and wait another hour on the phone just to tell them they screwed up? I think I'll just ignore it. As long as they don't charge me for any of it of course.

Shaw just came over to check the internet and fix our home phone. Good tech put us on a faster channel and got the phone working all in about 10-15 min. I wish I was better with computers or I could have fixed that but at the end of the day I am finally satisfied with the service I have
