Multiple blades give you a closer shave but can cause irritation for some. All major marketing campaigns focus on the "close shave" and nothing else. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to razor burn then I'd suggest giving a safety razor a try. If not and you think that the Mach 3 works for you, then stick with it.

I used to use a Sensor Excel (2 blades) and switched to a safety razor years ago due to persistent irritation and razor burn. The few times I've gone back to multiple blades haven't worked out very well for me.

There is no one-size-fits-all approach to shaving. Lots of variables at play. But the most important thing is that if what you are doing works, then stick with it. You can always experiment with different creams, brushes, etc, but if the blade works, then stick with it.

Do what I did put a steam shower in your house.

Spend 10 min sweating then a razor shave, no water from shower just the steam.

Once out of shower put on some George's cream and good to go.

Used to break out and had a acne from shaving now my skin looks great to the point where women have complimented me.

I've been on the Proglide Power razor with EVO shaving cream.

This cream is like a godsent for my face.

I use shaving soap and a Dorco disposable razor. They're a better shave than Gillette razors, and last longer too.

I find the Dorco 6+1 blade to be about the same as Gillette, but they cost much less.

Even if you pay full price for shipping (its free over $40) the blades cost about $1.50 each.

The main thing I like about them is the hair doesn't clog up as badly inside the blades like it did on my most recent Gillette. If any does accumulate, it rinses out much easier.

I ran out of shave gel last night and used conditioner instead and it was the greatest shave of my life. Never going back to traditional shave gel...

Wanted to bump this as I just got back from Knifewear.

I was pleasantly surprised with their selection of shaving items but will be back to really shope for some knives. The staff are awesome and I look forward to trying out my new gear.

Thanks for the heads up CMPunk!

I didn't see any of the selection on their website for shaving materials. Do you know what the general prices for brushes and blades were?
Can't find the link at the moment, but there was a Herald article about them and the resurgence in these old time shaving methods last week that was interesting.

Apparently they're in the process of redoing their web page to add the shaving items.

When I went, my "starter kit" was about $100. The razor I got was $15...the blades were $10, the travel kit with the shaving foam, oil and after shave was $20 and the brush was $50,

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the brushes will be about $20 to start and the razors will be $15

They had many of the respected brands and the prices vary from the cheaper to the really high end for brushes, stands, handles, mugs and product. There we're a number of gift sets for things that I'd totally buy for myself.

Their website offers no hints to the expanse of items they have. Definitely worth a look.

And total bonus points to Knifewear for stocking Aeropress coffee makers AND the filters.

A Florida man had a close shave with the law after he walked into a laundromat and treated himself to a shave after dropping his pants on the way in.

Curtis Brown didn’t say a word to the customers in the laundromat, but simply dropped trou, lathered up and started to shave – his beard, that is. It wasn’t clear why the 52-year-old had to remove his slacks in order to get his cheeks smooth, but he wasn’t charged with indecent exposure, because he kept his jockey shorts on during the incident.

Brown was charged with trespassing – the second time he’d been nabbed for that offense in the same location.

A little bit oh humor but seriously use the blade it's only a matter time and your face will
Adapt. How long have you been shaving for..
