What about Auburn Bay? I lived there for a spell and hated it, because there was NOTHING around. Is it better yet?

I'd be down for that, however I'm too busy protecting my family from the gangster that lives next door. I have to ready in case I see any other suspicious vehicles driving by with an AK47 sticking out the window.

In all seriousness though, all of the neighborhoods in the SE are basically cookie cutters of each other. You have the same style homes from starter to the very popular 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath with a bonus room style. Unfortunately New Brighton for some reason seems to be getting the most attention when it comes to negative publicity. I realize that the shooting could of happened anywhere, but unfortunately it happened right across the street from my house and that is very disturbing.

The punk kid that lives there is caught up in the drug trade (Cop friend of mine looked into the case and let me know all the details of the kid) and his parents could of very easily of bought a house in Cranston, the Towne, copperfield etc.

Oh one more thing that pisses me off about New Brighton is the community fees. ~$300 doesn't seem right when I know people that live a lake community and don't pay much more.

Anyways I'm stuck here for now for financial reasons and won't be moving anytime soon. I'm just glad we like our house so its not that bad.

I am not a fan of anything south of Ikea. Pretty much a land of flatness and cookie cutter homes, IMO.

I honestly would have a hard time moving anywhere further south then I am even a little bit. I am right at the beginning of Mckenzie Towne and New Brighton and I can't see my self going any further then the Sobe's intersection. That might change if an LRT ever gets opened but right now being 10 steps away from the BRT and avoiding all traffic and accidents on 52nd that seem to happen at every intersection in the winter. Bad news is my wife would love to move even further south while I would like to build an infill duplex somewhere more central

You might as well start looking for a home in Lethbridge.

What are you talking about?!

"My commute from Lethbridge to downtown Calgary only takes 15-20 minutes tops . . . even in the winter!"

That's funny, I often refer to a friend who lives in Auburn Bay as having bought in "North Lethbridge"

Wow I hadn't logged on for a while and seems my comments started a full on SE community turf war. Interesting. That said, I'd be fully into volunteering for a grow op stop team, I'm sick of seeing New Brighton go to ####.

I believe it started going south in 2003, which I believe is when it was built?

We prefer "Okotoks" over "North Lethbridge"...makes it sound closer. Actually I live in Cranston but close enough...

What is funny is no grow ops in Ogden or Lynwood. Since riverbend had 2 does that mean my whole life has been a lie since Ogden was the dumps and riverbend was nice

Well, the map is only for grow-ops in the last year and a half or so. Any earlier and you can make up whatever you want!
