I think it's more that they'd continue to work at something they wanted to work at.

If I won $50million, I'd give my boss and co-workers a single finger salute as I blew out of the door so fast they'd never see me again. But I'd want to do something with my time, instead of sitting around on my butt all day. Volunteers still 'work', I'd just be doing it at something I actually wanted to do, instead of something I have to do to make ends meet.

Well, for me, my co-workers are not jackasses so it probably makes it easier.

Also, I don't think I would keep working forever. Probably just a year or so, then I would just become a full time academic.

Edit: As WhiteTiger said, it would probably be a volunteer thing, which is really easy because the place I work for is non-profit and does really good work. I certainly wouldn't expect Joe Blow Geoengineer to keep plugging away at his downtown oil company, because in his case, i wouldn't be doing that either.

It's a conspiracy. Not the fact that most tickets are purchased in Ontario because it has over a 1/3rd of the population of Canada, couldn't be that.

I'd hire a bunch of chinamen over the age of 70 as my bodyguard. They'd push people out of my way wherever I go. In the club, they would stand guard and scan the ladies as they let them into the VIP room. I'll walk into a restaurant and one of my old bodyguards will reserve a table by only speaking in cantonese to a waiter who clearly do not speak it. I'd also hire an vietnamese woman over 90 to drive my limo.

Anyway, I'm going to the mall to check my ticket shortly. It'll be me...wonder what I'll do with my $100,000

(I thought the Extra on Lotto Max was $250k though?)

No I'm not 5. Having said that, It really doesn't take a wise old man who's had a lifetime of experiences to take advantage of an opportunity too diss that collection of bad roads, truck washes, germs and refineries to the north.

In our office pool last week on a three line free play we had all the numbers plus the bonus scattered between the three line. Unfotunately the most on a single line was 4. Probably the closest I will ever get to winning the lottery.

Only two of the 21ish max millions prizes were won - and one of those was won four times! That has to be the most disappointing way to win $250k that I can think of.
