Four firsts and four pick swaps. Jesus Christ that is insane. The last time the Nets made a trade like this they helped build the current Celtics, so I'd be pretty happy if I was a Rockets fan. Lavert is quality too. Oladipo is aight.

And the Rockets trade for Oladipo lol. The NBA's biggest problem right now is off the court is way more interesting than on.

Oladipo with an expiring deal to open up a max slot next summer. If they can use some of the four firsts to help dump the Wall contract that would be excellent work to reposition for the future.

Wow. Insane amount of players and assets. The NBA is definitely the most fun league to follow.

Nash has his work cut out for him...I don't see those three getting along too long.
I feel like Durant was over his "share the ball" time in Golden State and wanted to get more touches.
Kyrie left both Boston and Cleveland because he didn't feel like he was getting the credit he deserved.
Harden is Harden and is going to want his 30 shots a game.
I feel like Brooklyn had way better balance with Allen, Prince, and Lavert.

I mean the floor on this is higher than the last time the Nets went crazy with a trade, but yeah this still seems much more likely to flop than succeed. And yeah poor Nash, not sure he has the experience to handle the egos, but he's got a hell of a job ahead of him.

I don’t see this working out for the nets. They lost Dinwiddle to injury and now their next two best non stars in Lavert and Allen are gone. I mean sure they can score but there is still only one basketball going around. And who is going to play defense here? Anyway I predict this fails in spectacular fashion.

I give it a week before Kyrie and Harden are yelling at each other about ball distribution.

Well they say wearing black is very slimming, so that’s good for Harden.

Three headcases seems over the top and there’s almost no way this works out. Kyrie’s already being a PITA. Who else in the league would be a whiner who could potentially be their next target?

Cavs have too many centers now.
Gotta think the Raps go after someone.
I would get Love if he's available. Time to cash in on some of the value on the roster. No reason to sit on your hands.

Or don't get either? What's the point of giving up assets to get eliminated in the second round, at best? The Raps are not Kevin Love or Andre Drummond away from being contenders. Masai is going to do the right thing here and start the rebuild because if done right it can be a rebuild on the fly. But throwing assets away for guys who can't put them over the top is pointless and sets the rebuild back a couple years.

I do love the NBA blockbuster and how multiple teams are always brought in.
Huge risk for the Nets here and while this will likely have a better result than their 2013 trade with the Celtics that only got them to the 2nd round and cost them picks that turned into Brown, Tatum and Sexton. If all players are dialed in then there isn’t a better trio in the league than KD, Beard and Kyrie. Kyrie and Harden are absolute headcases though. Nets do have D’Antoni on their coaching staff though and he and Harden have a long relationship.
Rockets got the draft assets but I am not sure why they didn’t take the sizers offer of Simmons++. That is a 24 year old potential franchise player who is locked up long term. The rockets also sent a bunch of future picks to OKC for Westbrook a year ago so they can’t just go full tank. Oladipo is a good player and can be flipped or re-signed. Rockets still have a decent rotation with Dipo, Wall, Wood, Cozens. I heard the Rockets owner refused to trade Harden to Morey in Philly but that is dumb since it was the better deal. I guess banking on those Nets picks being higher in 5-7 years could turn out well for the rockets.
I love the deal for the Cavs who got Allen for dirt cheap. Apparently the rockets wanted to stay out of the luxury tax which is why they took the pick and Cleveland got Allen.
Pacers sent a guy who was likely to leave into a solid player who has 2 more years at a good price and a 2nd
Pretty exciting trade all around and so much more complex than any NHL deal

I agree I think they should be shopping Lowry to contenders and start working on a quick retool
