Carroll looks to be one heck of a 7th round pick. Then again you have to be weary of overagers producing high numbers. It's more of a concern if they aren't. Cool to see Carroll is showing he's a pest that can also put the puck in the net. Really excited to see what he can bring at the next level.

Carroll must be riding a serious high from the excitement of being unexpectedly drafted. To me it's nice to see the positive impact that being drafted has had on him, especially considering he sadly lost his dad a couple of years ago.
In addition to being an over-ager he's also a big guy. It's correct to be cautious and not overly hype up this prospect, but it would be one helluva stroke of luck if this guy makes the NHL one day. He could slot in well on our bottom 2 lines and if he happened to have some scoring touch as well it'll be a total bonus.

Carroll is one to watch for sure. He was pretty good in camp.

If he had gone undrafted he'd have 30 NHL teams knocking down his door. If you look at all the high scoring undrafted overagers that never got signed, they have one thing in common: too small/slow for the NHL. Carroll's offensive production has seriously ramped up well above expectations. Like I said, with his size, speed and now production, there'd be a lineup of 30 gms with contracts in hand

My gut feeling is that he becomes an NHLer. He was impressive in development camp. It will be interesting to see how he does in the AHL next season. A 6'3" RWer with a right hand shot could be quite useful for the Flames.

While it wouldn't completely shock me if Carroll ends up being better, I believe Ferland is almost a sure thing to play in the NHL. Even if Ferland fails to reach his potential offensively in the NHL he would fit in just fine on the bottom two lines. Ferland failed to produce in the NHL in his 10 games but he didn't look out of place imo.

Wow, I didn't know Carroll lost his dad. Good kid it seems who could turn out nice for us. That kind of personal adversity builds character. Would love to see him make it in the bigs.

Carroll is bigger and faster I think. I'm excited to see what he can do in the AHL next year. I think he can be that Bollig type but better at hockey

Ferland has some slick mits, showed as much in the chl as Carroll is showing now, and he has shown that he can play his game at a higher level. He's a little less risky of a prospect IMO.

Interesting that Mason Macdonald has slightly better numbers than Zach Fucale this year in the QMJHL while playing on a similar level team.
Bodes well for his WJHC bid for next years team possibly.

Klimchuk just scored a natural hat trick (all tap-ins) in the last 10 minutes of the third period to propel the Pats to a 5-3 win over Saskatoon.

It's a bummer that he has no offensive potential though.

Not Flames prospect related directly - but Oshawa has made a couple of 'go for it' trades in the past few days. Seems like a decent shot Hunter Smith will get a bunch of playoff games and will likely be in the mix with a few other teams for the Memorial Cup slot.

With the trade of Klimchuck to Brandon, it got me thinking about Eric Roy. A quick look at his stats shows a decrease in points so far, but quite the turnaround in his plus/minus (although the team itself seems to have improved quite a bit). Has anyone had an opportunity to watch Roy at all to comment on his play?
