The owners will likely be holding a press conference before the Grand Re-Opening and answer falsehoods depicted on a reality television show, including assertions that the restaurant confiscates tips from servers.
In fact, wait staff is paid $8-$14 per hour, two and half to nearly five times the standard hourly wage for servers.
...what?? Firstly, what does the second paragraph quoted have to do with the first?
"So I heard you take all tips from the servers"
"In fact, we pay the servers $8-$14 an hour!" (the $14 has not been reported to have been paid to anyone). You did NOT answer to the issue of the tips, you simply deflected the question and talked about their wages.
Secondly, 2.5 to nearly five times? If the 2 and a half is an exact figure, that puts the wage at $3.20? I know they pay less taxes down there, and thus make less, but is paying $3.20 an hour even possible? Shouldn't every minimum wage in Canada and the USA be above that? That's funking absurd!

Min wage in most states is $7.50/hr Washington has the highest at like $9/hr but regardless servers make somewhere in the $3 range because they get tips. A good server will make well over $15/hr and most of the tip money isn't even accounted for and they only account for $1/hr in tip money.
Good servers make good money, crappy ones do not, if I get a terrible server that decided that the table next to me would be better because the older men had suits on and forgot about bringing me drinks and salads first. When my meal came an hour after ordering it in a non rush pace and that my meal came before my salad and drinks the server doesn't get a tip. She probably got a good one the way she kept flirting with the old men.

It's all speculation but some redditors mentioned that there are some signs that the restaurant could be a money-laundering front. Two examples would be skimming the tips from the servers would allow them to fudge their numbers and how he really did not want to police involved when the customer wouldn't pay for the pizza he never got. Also he's a gangster, not Ramsey, according to him. I find it hard to believe that this place is making money. I'd be curious to see their books.
If Reddit is good at one things it's definitely criminal investigations.

Yeah -- closing for 5 days should give this enough time for all of this to blow over, right? Good plan. If the likely press conference goes through, I'm sure they'll storm off before opening the doors. Hilarious.
LOL, so they've clearly hired a PR firm to try and fix the situation. If I were the PR firm I'd be asking for cash up front and signing the world's largest waiver document given these two crackpots.
For those that have 40 minutes to spare to yourself a favour and watch the YouTube clips. I really like this show and I've seen some difficult restaurant owners but I've never seen anything like this. Wow!
