If Peters dropped some racial slurs as bad choices of words than he should own up to it and shame on him. If he meant them in the context of being racist he should be let go, but uttering those words in context doesn't automatically mean he should be punted.

Flat out disagree with your entire post. Who cares about a slippery slope. Shine on a light on the problem and expose it all.

I think he had issues in Junior but by the time he was with the Flames those issues were in the past.

Akim Aliu accuses Bill Peters of making racial slurs during rookie year in Rockford

If true, this is why racism should never ever be tolerated, not in hockey, not in the workplace or anywhere else. Good thing we live in one of the Least racist places on earth. Imagine what it’s like living in Eastern Europe, Africa, India. Yeah it still is a thing; but it can come form multiple places here.

He's getting roasted on Twitter.
What kind of investigation will happen?
It's a he said he said, this will be the inevitable problem in this case.
Now if more people come to the surface, watch out. Could get even uglier...

Story breaks about an alleged racial slur from the current head coach who was a Babcock protégé after Babcock stories have been flying about what a POS he was.

Obviously, if his accusations against Peters are true, none of that even matters in the slightest. I'm just saying I wouldn't put it past the guy to be stirring the pot against a guy he didn't like.

I wasnt there. But I'm looking through what he went through and can make an assumption that his behavior was dictated by what he was dealing with.
Look, I dont want to go off the rails here, I am not defending him and he, like others obviously have/had problems but like Fleury there could be reasons behind them. Can't automatically discredit a guy because he went through many billets etc.

agreed. There is a difference between being a hardass and being a racist.
Can't imagine we'll hear a "lot" of racism stories but could be wrong. And those exposed, oh well. Don't be a racist?

Except in music. Or if you are black.
It’s a mind field out there, particularly for white males.

Hey like I said, even though I think Aliu is a piece of crap, if his allegations are true none of that matters, it doesn't make racism okay. But as it stands now it's just one persons word against another. If another of his teammates speaks up, or Peters admits to it, then Aliu's questionable character doesn't matter. But until then I just have to take it with a grain of salt.

So a small town defines a country of almost 40 million? I grew up in small town Alberta BTW and while I saw it I would say it was pretty isolated.

Research the word racism and tolerance. Canada is one of the most tolerant places to live on this planet. It’s not perfect, especially in some areas. But it’s one of the best places for a mixing pot.
