This week's episode had a huge plot acceleration that was done well. I also didn't expect Key and Peele to be back. I guess they are in it until the end.
LOL @ Lester getting his award at Hotel Arts (supposedly Las Vegas). I'm not sure where the Casino part was filmed there since I don't go to any. That's the other aspect of the show that keeps driving me back. Spotting Calgary locations is fun. The regional FBI headquarters was the brutalist concrete CBE building in downtown. That fit well considering what the real FBI building looks like in D.C.

Curious about that. Did they actually find a banner from 2007 from Hotel Arts, or did they make that recently? If so, why would they put "Hotel Arts" on it. Seems kind of odd, unless they're purposefully giving nods to Calgary landmarks.

Who is O&A?
This last episode filled me with suspense and dread from beginning to end like no TV show or movie has in a very long time. I just finished watching it and I'm shaking with nervous energy. This is the best television I've seen in 10 years (disclaimer: I don't like things most people seem to like [ie: Breaking Bad, etc.] so maybe this won't be your cup of tea). I find most television and entertainment storytelling in general to be formulaic and predictable. This show is just completely unpredictable with an evil energy coursing through it. You simply don't know what's going to happen next.

Little filmaking goofs and continuity continue to bug me however. I hate when they have guns in shows that don't actually fire. It looks like the shooting in the Hotel Arts was done in Adobe After-Effects. He just pulls the double action trigger on the P226 and the slide doesn't move back nor do shells eject (although you hear the sound effect of shells falling onto the floor).

Sweet! He was at the Hose & Hound in Inglewood having lunch with Martin Freeman while they were filming. Pretty neat

They wrapped everything up nicely. A lower tempo episode than the last one but enjoyable all the same.

I think that was done somewhat intentionally. I noticed the same thing in the latest episode. There is like a one second delay between the sound of the shot fired and the bullet hitting whenever Malvo shoots Ignoring logistics, it made some of the scenes feel even more strange.. to me at anyway

They had just showed the original Fargo movie the other night and I noticed the same thing with the shooting effects, like when Buscemi's character is exchanging gunfire during the ransom money drop off.
I totally forgot about the scene where he buries the money in the snow after getting shot in the face and it ends up being found later on by Stavros.
Nice end to the series, anyway. It was only 10 episodes long, so not a lot to really wrap up, or reason to go with misdirection with how things ended up.

Glad I found this thread. The whole Billy Bob aspect frightened me, but this was a wicked show, from start to finish. Nothing has been made official yet, but I'm hoping for a second season.

Fargo is winning awards but I haven't seen any news regarding a second season. Reportedly, the ratings were not spectacular the first time around but it's FX and not HBO/AMC.

Read the plot description, not the video.

It just says "Malvo eyes a new target in the series finale. Elsewhere, Gus pursues a hunch; and Lester manipulates a situation."
It was never a question or whether or not it was the end of this series. That was the plan from the start to make this a 10 hour long self-contained movie. The creators have said for months that season 2 (if commissioned) would be new characters and a new series. Fargo was developed as an anthology series.
I'm hoping that if FX commissions a second season that they will return to Calgary for filming but they probably won't be able to reuse all the Inglewood locations they filmed in.

Interesting show to watch given that I've lived in both Inglewood and Mayland Heights, this must be what it's like living in Vancouver and watching so many movies and TV shows with landmarks you recognize. And boy, Lester really is one of the most despicable characters I can remember from a TV series, not an easy task when he's opposite a remorseless contract killer. Martin Freeman did an awesome job, as did Billy Bob. Wonder if one or both of them will be up for Emmy's
