I’d certainly draft Schaffer number one this year. He missed time, but his skills are more projectionable as a top defenseman. I feel there’s also a bit of a red flag with Misa almost disappearing in the playoffs, and Parekh still putting up solid numbers, and then looking good in his first game with the Flames. There’s a good chance Parekh padded misa’s stats because of how good he is.

I think Misa will be good, and he won’t be a flop, but he’s not celebrini or Bedard, who were wire to wire first overall projections.

Dylan Larkin would be a good fit for the Flames. 29 next season, a natural center. a perennial 70 point guy.

Damn Yzerman and the captain will need to have a few beers and sort that out.

Disagree. Age-wise, by the time the rest of the team catches up and is ready to contend, he'll be on the downswing.

I would do Andersson for Larkin 1 for 1.

Nah, he wouldn't. He'd cost a lot. Is more of the Kadri Frost we already have, without the leadership intangibles of Kadri.

Plus this. I'd never want a guy like this on the team.

No kidding LOL.

Larkin's contract expires when he is 34, perfect.

While his timeline doesn't fit Calgary's, he has twice the trade value of Anderson.

I definitely wouldn't want to trade for Larkin (anymore). Also, why would the Red Wings want to create a hole at the top of their C depth to patch a hole in their D?

The point for the Red Wings is to try and add to their group to get over the bubble and into the playoffs. They need to move futures to get their team into the playoffs next season.
The point for the Flames is to move out a vet that is nearing UFA to try and get a young player that will line up with the future core of the team.

It will be interesting to watch what happens with the Red Wings as that is some pretty damning evidence that the pressure is building up on Yzerman.

Yeah they want to add, and Larkin wanted them to add no takeaway from the team.

Larkin is also from Michigan.

They also got the coach fired a day after Christmas.

Not sure they should be complaining too much.

Red Wings were in 11th in the conference on Trade Deadline day tied in points with Montreal but Montreal had a game in hand.

3 weeks later they dropped to 12th and went 3-6-0 in that time, not should you should be blaming the GM for not adding.

Last time I checked I don't remember Montreal adding but they seemed to play better to get in down the stretch.

The Yzer-plan hasn’t really been getting anywhere. I’d be getting frustrated as a player as well.

Is Detroit on Andersson's NTC? I feel like they could use him there reading from Red wings HF.

He's had a very bad experience there.

Playing with Russian fire there.
Nikishin looks like he could be one of the top dmen in the league on the left side. Big guy too.

Assuming the now deleted tweet referred to this article: https://www.prohockeyrumors.com/2025...-contract.html
