Tucker Carlson Comes Right Out And Says It: 'I'm A D**k'
Quote:
Former Fox News personality Tucker Carlson has explained why he attacked Chris Cuomo on his Fox News show when Cuomo was at CNN.
“Because I’m a dick, probably. Because it was easy. Because I don’t like CNN and I really mean that,” Carlson told Cuomo in a lengthy interview that Carlson shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday.
Quote:
Carlson suggested videos he was sent on Instagram of Cuomo lifting weights had partly inspired his rhetoric, as did Cuomo’s coverage of the coronavirus pandemic when he repeatedly appeared on the air with his brother, then-New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D).
“I was pissed about the COVID thing, that is totally true. I didn’t buy any of this from day one, that was totally real,” said Carlson. “But that’s not … what I did was not really a pure refutation of your positions on COVID. It was me taking the cheap shots, which I’m not always above, and, but you should be. You should be above that.
“Did it feel good when you would come after me like that?” asked Cuomo.
“Felt a little dirty,” admitted Carlson.
“Dirty, good?” asked Cuomo. “Because you enjoyed it.”
“I don’t want to use any kind of sexual metaphor, but there is one for this,” Carlson replied. “It’s like something you shouldn’t be doing, but there’s kind of the animal thrill of doing something wrong.”
Quote:
Carlson said his wife was an “unusually good person” who had told him she didn’t like it when he is mean. She would say, “That’s not who you are,” he said. “It’s kind of who I am, that’s the problem.”
Yes, we all know Carlson's M.O. Go back to his Crossfire days. He would argue positions that he never believed in just to be a dick and to try to dismantle the opposite viewpoint.
He's a pure debater, in the sense that he only cares about winning, and has no real philosophical or moral center. He's soulless, and that gives him a special ability to argue from positions that no rational person ever would. You could almost call him a masterdebater.

I quite enjoyed his interview with his former enemy, Cuomo. Many people these days are locked into their sides and will only watch media that supports their view of the world, which I understand, but then I feel leaves out an avenue to see a different perspective. Was nice to see Cuomo and Tucker discuss their very different views on topics respectfully and at least hear both views. I mean, I still had to sit through listening to some of Tucker's ridiculous stances on covid, laws that protect women and affirmative action, but I believe there is always value when this happens in society vs. "I'm not clicking on that because they are on the other side".

There are some topics though where it's not productive, valuable, or in any way helpful to society for both sides to have equal opportunity to get their message out to the masses. Sometimes we do need to listen to experts and quit pretending that we know better than them. Two examples are climate change, and the harm caused by cigarettes. On these two topics there have been debates dragging on for decades, delaying action that could have prevented disastrous outcomes for enormous numbers of people.

Judge tosses 6 out of 41 of the indictment charges (incl. 3 of the 13 felonies) in the Georgia case vs Trump (attempting to overturn the 2020 election).
Quote:
The state judge presiding over Donald Trump’s criminal case in Georgia has thrown out six of the indictment’s 41 charges, ruling that the state had failed to make specific enough allegations to support them.
The ruling affects three of the 13 felony counts Trump faces in the case, though not the central charge of a racketeering conspiracy aimed at overturning the results of the 2020 presidential election in the state. Several of the dismissed counts do not involve Trump but instead apply to some of his most prominent co-defendants, including Rudy Giuliani, John Eastman and Mark Meadows.
Will get a lot of play in the media and Truth Social... despite the remaining 35 charges (which you probably won't see in any headline).
Thought we had him this time.

Yeah, watch any of his "debates" outside of his TV show and it becomes very clear that he's conservative, but he's easily moved off of his white nationalist talking points, etc. Still makes him a terrible person, but cable news is essentially pro wrestling in the 80's at this point. Just a bunch of people with gimmicks, trying to get over with an audience who still thinks it's real.

We prefer "debate pervert" around these parts.

RFK Jr VP pick Aaron Rodgers has been revealed to be a Sandy hook conspiracy theorist. As in, full on Alex Jones style. This is hardly surprising and I really didn't need another reason to despise this lying condescending POS. I am interested in how the Jets will react, and how quickly.

From what I've read, those comments were from 2013. It's been a decade, and he should be given an opportunity to walk back those comments. I wonder how he feels about it now that Jones was convicted for defamation and it's been thoroughly disproven. Considering his thoughts on vaccines, I think it's fair to assume he's down the rabbit holes of every other conspiracy theory too.
