Holy #### balls what an episode!!!
Creator Robert Kirkman joining the show full time has taken it up a notch.
So many geek out moments for me, Michonne the cut away to the prison Rick declaring he's in charge... Boo ya!
Glad Hershel made it out too.

First off, comic book people should not comment on my post if there's a spoiler that exists for what I'm about to say haha.
1. Michonne is some kind of freaky badass character! I can't wait to see what kind of gang/crew she's a part of, if any. A sword as a primary weapon!? Awesome. Just awesome.
2. Introducing a prison to the fold is ingenious. I'm wondering if that prison is maybe already populated with maybe a prison raider gang OR it's unpopulated altogether, which is pretty damn good place to set up camp OR it's extremely populated with prisoner zombies. So much interesting speculation can be made about the prison.
3. In this episode of Talking Dead one of the director/writers said that one of Merle, Morgan, or Morgan's son Duane will reappear in season 3. Each one could bring an interesting dynamic to the group. a) Merle would force Darryl to choose between his old self and his new self; b) Morgan would add a good character to the group which would be a nice addition to a Rick/Darryl/Morgan trio; c) Duane could become a friend of Carl's, maybe helping him get back to living a childhood. Either way, I'm glad one of those three characters are coming back.
4. Glad to hear Darryl doesn't feel Rick is using him. I don't really want the whole group to split up.
5. I found it interesting that they kept Hershel around. I'm interested to see what he brings to season 3. I like the fact that he's struggling with a whole new kind of morality. He used to think he had the world figured out, but now he's developing a new view of the world which doesn't fit into his Christian worldview.
6. I liked Rick's speech at the end. It sort of set everyone straight (I think). They've accepted, and probably don't care, that he is without a doubt the best leader they have.
7. My one hope as a viewer of this show is that they find a base home and do ALOT of scavenging. I enjoy it when they scavenge because they it keeps the show moving (i.e., find new characters, more zombie killing, the killing off of characters, and just overall conflict and good viewing).
Anyways, so excited for October. This is going to a loooooong summer haha.

Awesome! You can't introduce the 3rd best character in comics in a better way than what they did with Michonne!!
One thing this episode taught me, if your farm gets overrunned by a zombie hoard just stay in the house and you will be fine.
I was kinda hoping for a pulp fiction moment with Glenn and him jumping in the driver's seat with that shotgun.. hehehhe

oh and wtf is up with that Talking Dead thing after? Has that show always been on? That host guy must be the most annoying guy on tv. I couldn't even watch the entire 30 minutes.

Say what you want about Rick, but Hershel took out more walkers than any of them tonight.

That was kinda ridiculous. It was like he had unlimited bullets. Also the people behind him was getting mobbed but he just kept shooting in front of his house.
Also they really need to write Lori better. She is not the greatest character in the book but man is she damn annoying.

The finale really brought things together and eliminated a lot of the problems I was having. I hated Rick and Hershel big time, but finally Rick has become the character I wanted him to and Hershel is a semi-badass as well. The acting has become a lot better too and the story really picked up in the second half of the season.

Seemed like Kirkman was really excited to unleash season 3. I can see why if the prison, michonne and rumors of...
...are true, then things are going to get really crazy, really quick.

My next plan would be finding a place I could build a moat around and having bridges that could be retracted. Or a prison I guess.

I thought the character with the sword and walker on chains seemed too medieval or fantasy for the show... it kind of gets away the realism and guns/knives.

Was that a prison at the end? The video I was watching was kinda dark and I couldn't really make it out. Any screen shots?

when i saw her chopping off a zombie's head with a sword, my initial reaction was "FINALLY!". in a world where ammo is precious and the enemy is slow and stupid, why wouldn't you starting going medieval?
makes me wonder though, if you have to destroy the brain to fully kill a zombie, do they stay "alive" if you chop off the head?
