The biggest thing I miss from the early seasons is Doakes. Man was he an awesome character....really wish they didn't kill him off.
In terms of Deb, I'm starting to get really annoyed by her emotional break downs, and I can picture more therapy-style freak outs.

Best scene of the series by far, and IMO, one of the best scenes in any TV series ever.
Two SUPERB actors at their finest...and yes, that was Dexter without the mask.

We have also been exposed to Dexter the sociopath gradually learning how to act normal and feign human qualities. Although I'm sure his fatherly instincts have a lot to do with it as well, Dex has also constructed himself a much better mask.
EDIT: I don't see a lot of love for Debra in this thread. The character is an emotional wreck, and Jennifer Carpenter pulls it off perfectly. I can't believe she hasn't won more awards for her performance in this series.

I wonder whats going to happen to Quinn since he got transfered.. is it a way of getting him off the show?
Or will he somehow get back into digging about dexter, as the last time he was suspicious he got pretty close to finding out.

He didn't get transferred. He threatened Batista that if he tried that he'd say he has an alcohol problem so they can't transfer him.

i think they were setting up Quinn this whole season to be an unlikeable ######bag because there will eventually be a confrontation with Dexter next season where he has to "deal" with him. we've already seen him drinking and driving, say he kills someone on another bender and tries to cover it up. i don't think Dexter would let that slide

Lol. I think the show is excellent except for the season 3 with "Miguel"... What a waste.
Season 1, 2 & 4 = Win!. I lost hope for the S3 but S4 came with a BANG
The newest season: You are looking too much for the "obvious", oke, the Deb seeing Dex killing DDK is obvious, I knew it would happen when she told Dexter to look for the last evidence (whatever sweep blabla).
But of course it has to go that way if they want to end the show someday(year). It's a show, he's a murderer, of course he gets "caught" (Who knows which way? Deb knows, but does she APPROVE?????).
That's the catch why everyone is gonna watch Season 7. Don't be so dramatic, it's a show.

I'm starting to dislike Dexter (the character).
He is getting too sloppy. Makes alot of stupid decisions.

Shouldn't have watched because of the spoilers or shouldn't have watched because now you really want the new season to start?

A sneak peak described as coming directly after the cliffhanger and you watched it without seeing the cliffhanger? For shame.

It's part of the show, always has been. Part of the appeal is seeing how he gets out of seemingly impossible situations.

He's developed a lot as a character...has feelings and emotions too! So mistakes come with it.
Interesting preview though.

A TV critic took the Dexter team to task for season six, saying that the consensus among reviewers was the it was the show’s weakest outing.
|
Quote:
Indeed, this exchanged happened moments after we posted a Showtime story that opined how the seventh season premiere was more compelling than any episode in the sixth season. The upcoming season, debuting Sept. 30, features Ray Stevensen (Rome) playing a Russian mob overlord and, based on the premiere, seems laser focused on Debra trying to figure out Dexter’s secrets.
