I don't think Rogan is actually a pernicious figure, he just explores the shallowest possible depth of any issue to leave him feeling informed. but the second he accidentally learns something just a tiny bit deeper, then he suddenly has a new found awareness that is wholly authoritative on the world.

A walking, talking Dunning Kruger effect will eventually trip over information that will reveal the dangers of Trump to people like him, and will act like he is the first to realize we need to turn on Trump.

But I also think that there is substantial economic hit being imposed on the US economy by Canadian consumers and people are complaining up the chain.

Still not enough though. Canadians can without too much problem redirect $50b worth of spending that goes to American products & services into Canadian products & services. We need this trend to continue, because in the end it will matter to Americans.

CBC News asked the White House on Tuesday for clarification about which tariff plan, specifically, the president was referring to in his Monday comments.

The White House reply? A different plan for retaliatory tariffs on various countries is, as the president said, moving ahead as scheduled. That plan involves Trump's threat to punish other countries with trade barriers against the U.S., based on a report the president has requested for April 1.

This could have some effects in Canada. Trump's executive order threatening reciprocal tariffs mentions Canada's tax on U.S. digital platforms as one of several foreign policies he'd like to punish.

But this is not the debilitating 25 per cent economy-wide tariff, and the 10 per cent oil tariff, Trump has threatened against Canada and Mexico, under the guise of renegotiating border policies.

Also, this absolutely nothing to do with fentanyl, especially in regards to Canada. From what I've read, the already minuscule amount crossing our border has gone down even more since we threw 1.3 billion more at the border back in December. This whole thing is just about Trump trying to punish other countries. Nothing more.

As I understand it we are getting the original tariffs on march 4 and some additional (reciprocal?) tariffs on April 2.
