I should probably wait but I got in at +165 for Cinci on the moneyline and Cinci +4.5 at -115.

This loss doesn't sting the way the one to the Patriots did a few years ago right now. But in time this one will be far more haunting. This was a game that the Chiefs completely had, and they found a way to blow it. It's a bit perplexing that they stopped running in the second half when it had been working pretty well. I do think the Chiefs threw away a really good chance at the Super bowl by not closing this one out. Disappointing because when Mahomes started playing what I would call proper football with some plays here and there, the team looked really good, and it looked like a sustainable style that could win in games like this. But the hero tendency that tripped him up early crept back into his game and I hope he learns from that lesson.

At least seeing a team like the Bengals go thru is a fresh look for the league. Lot's of praise being heaped on Joe Burrow who is awesome. But their defense intercepted their opponents last drive in 3 straight games to either protect a league, or get the ball back for their offence. When you have an elite guy getting rookie money at QB, you can get playmakers elsewhere who can step up and win games. Plus since that game against Green Bay, Evan McPherson has been excellent. Senator is onto something when he says an elite kicker is worth something. Really the Bengals won all their games as a team, so it's fitting that they make the Superbowl. Patrick Mahomes got away from using the rest of his team in the second half, and he'll get to watch this one.

First Super Bowl ever to not feature a team in the top three seeds of either conference, which is about right for what was a wide open season with there not really being a single dominant team. My initial thought is the Rams are better at pretty much everything, and the trench advantage looks pretty big for the Rams. But that the Rams have been trying to give away the last two games will probably keep things more interesting and the Bengals might have a chance to steal another one. But yeah surprised at the 3.5/4 lines, I expect it's close to 7 by game time.

Trying not to be sour grapes but as a huge Bills fan watching Mahomes pretty much blow it yesterday was quite frustrating.

I also don't want to take anything away from Burrow as he has played great but he's also been getting a ton of help on defense. First the Titans game where had it not been for Tannehill playing like garbage and Cincy capitalizing on it Tennessee probably wins that game. Yes Burrow threw for 348 yards but no touchdowns and had a pick. Plus the sacks of course. Then yesterday unlike the Bills Cincy adjusts at halftime and Mahomes gets completely shutdown and throws the game away in OT.

Just frustrated I guess as it really feels even more now like Buffalo threw away a Super Bowl win because the puffed up number 1 defense couldn't do what the number 17 defense did. If Allen had gotten that kind of support last week that's a blow out win and I'm fairly confident they beat the Bengals at home too.

It's not sour grapes, Bills were the best team in the league this year and needed to not play prevent for 13 seconds and they probably do win the Super Bowl. It's just another item for the Bills "Scrapbook of Pain".

Allen didn't get the support though as the defense had a bad day. I don't know how you can be overly confident they beat the Bengals as they deserve a lot of credit for beating the 1st, 2nd and 5th seeds to get to the Super Bowl. Nobody can say they had an easy path as they are fully deserving as the AFC representative in the Super Bowl. The Raiders were a play away from going into OT with the Bengals and possibly beating them but the Bengals were the better team that day as they executed on the last play of the game to lock up the win. In the NFL playoffs it usually comes down to a small handful of plays which one team executes for the win and the other fails. Just ask Cowboys or Packers fans. The Bills simply didn't execute in key times and the Chiefs did. Buffalo didn't throw away the Super Bowl because it was never theirs for the taking and I'm getting a bit of a whiff of arrogance here from Bills fans.

There were 3 bets actually. One for $5 and one for $2 in addition to that one.

I don't think it's arrogance at all. Buffalo absolutely crushed New England. Cincy as you said almost went to OT against Oakland. Tennessee sacks Burrow 9 times but a late Tannehill INT hands Cincy the game. Allen plays his guts out, gives Buffalo the lead TWICE within the last two minutes and his defense blows it. Burrow plays a good game but Mahomes turns into pumpkin and Burrow gets handed another turnover that they convert into a win.

Cincy took advantage of costly plays and kudos to them but I think Buffalo beats them if it came down to it.

If there is ANYTHING to learn from this season it is that what happened one week had zero bearing on what happens the next.

Could Buffalo beat Cincy? Of course.

Could Cincy beat Buffalo? Of course.

The one thing i think we have seen though, is that the two remaining teams both come from the toughest divisions in their respective conferences. If that is indeed a factor, then that should lean towards the Rams being more likely to win it all.

I think I’m over Tony Romo. Talks way too much. Takes away from the enjoyment of the game.
