Right, a player with a 5% chance of ever playing a game in the NHL seems like a great return for a bottom 6 utility forward who can play all 3 positions, can move up and down a lineup and elevates his game in the playoffs!

If said player wasn’t named Sam Bennett, everyone would agree that getting your proposed return would be a fireable offence. Maybe an OK return if he was a pending UFA at the trade deadline, but at the beginning of the season for a player who will be RFA?

Dreger on during the intermission, says that no trade is imminent for Bennett. That means he’ll be gone by the end of the game.
