She's calmed down a little bit now but does need to force a break here.

Also, it speaks so much about how hard she's fallen that Abanda and Andreescu both get prime time for their matches while Genie is dumped to the afternoon draw.

And I'm not even doing it to be negative.

I really want her to turn things around and play well, but she's making basic errors. It's frustrating to watch. Just now, a double fault and gets broken.

And then she'll hit a great forehand winner down the line like it's nothing.

She's never been the same after she knocked her head in at the U.S open.

She's been consistent her whole career except for 2014 where she was actually good.

I'm still on the Genie train as well, but she's certainly making it difficult to remain a believer.

And...it's over. Le sigh. 32 unforced errors including 7 double faults, yeesh.

Genie has nowhere to go but down without significant, wholesale changes to her game. Basically the exact same player now that she was when she got blasted off the court in the Wimbledon final. She'll always have days she looks like a potential top player, but she's simply one of the easiest, most predictable players to play on tour.

Now that she's looking at having to qualify to make every half decent tour event this could very well be the end for her. Maybe she should continue the Anna K trajectory and play doubles full time. Can still be a big star at majors doing that.

Denis just came back from love-40 down to hold serve - It might be the TSN turning point of the match (even though Sportsnet is the broadcaster )

How about that moxie from Denis, saved multiple match points to win the second set tie-breaker 10-8 and force a 3rd set.

The crowd should stop applauding Dutra Silva first serves that are faults, though.

Very important win for Denis too with his points from last year (beating Kyrgios) dropping off now he would have been down in the 150's, this will get him back to the 130's which will seed him for US Open qualies. And he has the rest of the year now to continue to gain with nothing falling off the rest of the year and nothing of real significance until next March.

She's now spent significantly more time on tour as a massive underachiever in a weak field that she has winning or at the very least on an upward trajectory. The only reason she's even talked about at this point is because of her looks and the marketing that was invested behind her early in her career.

Unless she pulls an Agassi by dropping off tour and recommitting herself to the game at a lower level she's never going to get back to where people still think she should be...but probably should not be based on her game.

Bianca is on court taking on Babos - On serve tied at 2-all in the first set.

My word, great hustle by Bianca to win that point.
