How can players not progress? What happens when you're a few years into it, do you just have ####ty 70 overall players?

Spoke to soon regarding that. However I can confirm that in addition to not being able to choose your own draft choices, the only trades made in a BAGM mode will be user initiated. The CPU will not send you any trade proposals.

Nah, if you can't sim between shifts it's unplayable. I'm not sitting on the bench watching the ###### AI do nothing for more than half of every game.

Geez it really must suck. Glad I didn't rush out and pick it up today as I'm sure one of you will sell it to me for 30 bucks based on how bad it is. Any takers?

Depends how you play I guess. 4 or 5 minute periods have you chillin on the bench for 30 seconds, no worries for me.
As I said, I'm just offering a different point of view for others. Super duper if you're one of the vocal majority that has a lot of complaints. No skin off my back

Yeah the game modes are lacking but the game itself is fine.
Gameplay is good, I don't find the menus that hard to navigate, issue is just not enough game modes fully fleshed out.
Be a Pro is useless without goals and coaches feedback IMO.
HUT seems to work fine.
BE A GM is fine of you just want to play a bare bones game but lacks any sort of depth.

IMO, there's a major issue with HUT injuries. Because HUT does not have a bench, you are unable to bench injured players. The only way to remove an injury is to apply a card. Often, it's just cheaper to buy a new player with pucks than it is to heal the injured player.
I bought a injury heal off the auction house for one of my players though, since I didn't want to replace TJ Oshie.
Other than that, I'm loving HUT. Went 4-2 in the first division, and will try Div 9 tomorrow.

I played Hardcore Superstar on BeAGM. First game of the season Vancouver beat me 7-3. Not because my guys were nerfed and theirs were dominant, but because I was trying to play like it was NHL14.
The gameplay is just better. A cleaner hockey experience (although I do have some issue with goalie decisions).
Basically you see goals because of a fantastic individual effort or defence brain cramps. Kinda like the real NHL.
I like it, although I almost ragequit when I lost.
Edit: also it seems like faceoff stats are better used now. Monahan sucks at faceoffs and it was one of the reasons I got dominated by Van. Stajan and Backlund would fair better, so I actually had to focus on starting their lines in the D zone, otherwise Van would start with posession, which had me running around like an idiot.

After getting over my initial rage, I actually come to like the omission of the pre-season, as it was pretty useless. As far as scouting and trade blocks etc. still a pretty good system. I'm in the minority but I like the new menu setup. One thing if do find utterly infuriating is the new puck physics seem to only help my opponent. I am constantly having the puck bounce over my Dmans stick when it is dumped into my end. I'm always there first but I have to be at the puck for at least 2 whole seconds before he picks up the puck and usually the forechecking player steals it right out from under me. So annoying.

Played the start of a season with a buddy tonight. We managed to squeak past the Canuks, got spanked pretty hard the next couple of games. Finished the night playing against the Blue Jackets...It's the last minute of the game and we are down 2-1. We get the tying goal with just under a minute left. Then we get the go-ahead goal with just over 30 seconds left. We think we have it in the bag, when with 6.6 seconds left, they tie it up again. Fine, we got this in OT. Next thing we know, they get the go-ahead goal with 1.1 seconds left.
I don't often feel that a computer game 'cheats'...but I was eyeing it pretty sideways there.

I play 10 minute periods, I find with 10 min periods on hardcore superstar, you see goalies save percentages much closer to real life. I struggle to put up 30+ shots a game at that setting.

the game play, especially online is really good. even offline, once you stop playing the game like it were 2014, it's a pretty clean experience.
last night i put the entire flames prospect camp, other than i think 2 omissions, onto the heat roster, and moved draisatl/chase, and another few oiler prospect camp go-ers onto the barons roster, and played a game or 2 offline vs. Lot of fun. Bennet scored the lone goal with 0.2s left

As someone who only plays BAGM, trades all his draft picks, and never played an AHL game, I'm finding the game and GM mode to be excellent so far. I'm also in the minority that feel the menus are really good, visually and functionally. Although they are slow on some screens. Definitely a welcome change after having the same menu system for the last 8 years. I consider myself lucky that the elements of the game I enjoy the most seemed to avoid the EA chopping block (except for edit player, that needs to be patched in).
I'm not entirely sure what the 1.4gb update did, but I know in BAGM it added more options to roster management, including changing player numbers and captaincy.
Did anyone have any issues with Sam Bennett being on the roster? The first GM mode I started up, he wasn't on my roster or in the system. I had to go back to the main menu and move him from Kingston to Calgary.
