Scott Cruickshank ‏@CruickshankCH 13s #Flames' fittest rookies at camp (in order) -- Brossoit, Elson, Horak, Van Brabant, Jooris.

Tim Harrison interviews remind me of Conroy.

Harrison seems like a really classy guy despite the nature of his game / his playing style. I'm sure he and Sven are on good terms. Things always get heated in game situations, especially when individual are being analyzed and want to maintain their reputations. Neither seem like guys to hold a grudge, both are just fierce competitors.

Coincidentally, people said the same thing about Joe Nieuwendyk when he was here.

Having said that, you have to like that Bartschi was not the dominant player in camp and made everyone look bad. There were more than enough solid performances to get excited about!
So to paraphrase: Don't get excited, because these are only prospects. Plenty of prospects to get excited about!

Phew, glad you're here to temper our expectations, New Era.

It wasn't bad. It was good. A very good hit.

Baertschi likes to do this 'dance around' deke and Harrison predicted it perfectly.

I'm really starting to like Harrison.

Yep anyone mad at Harrison for throwing big hits should be mad at Gaudreau for his sick dangles. They're here to demonstrate what they can do. Its too bad Sven got hurt but the hit seemed clean. For a sixth round pick who no one knew anything about its very impressive how much he was talked about at this camp.

Wasn't Brossoit recently on the IR for an injury? Pretty damn impressive to come back from that to be fittest at camp. And nice to see a goalie take top spot!

People seem a little down on Sven...was his performance today not up to expectations (cross check aside)?

I'm sure Sven isn't thinking that he needs to best player out there for a prospect camp. He is basically a sure thing for the NHL line-up this season. I would only worry if his performance at the main camp is lackluster.

Sven was a non-factor in today's game, aside from his boneheaded retaliation penalty. He only played about 1 period.

I'd rather Sven show everyone up in the main camp then in the prospect camp.

Dont think its that people are down on Sven. He's just not the shiny new toy anymore, and we have seen him alot over the last two seasons.

These camps a fun because we get to see the guys we dont see a whole lot of. Sven doesn't fit that bill anymore. In game one he took the game over in a similar fashion to what Johnny Hockey and Monahan did today

So, can we officially label Gaudreau a RW prospect now?

He was really good in the first game. Best guy on the ice. He wasn't good in the second game. But he didn't play much following the hit from Harrison.

I am not worried. Still our best NHL ready prospect.
