A pick, a mid-roster player or project prospect, and a throw in, perhaps Feaster might get... but guys like Saad or Teravainen from my 'Hawks, for instance? That would get Bowman lynched. The feeling among 'Hawk fans is that they are grooming TT for when Kane's contract expires...Many expect Kane to be moved at the end of his current contract. The mention of Dylan Olson is more realistic, only because the 'Hawks feel that they have other 2nd or 3rd pair D-prospects. In an earlier post, I also mentioned guys with expiring contracts that might be had...And If I were looking for guys that might be had with some up side, Stalberg would be the guy on the 'Hawks I'd enquire about...or if you are willing to gamble, Frolik, who had been a 20 goal rook, but is buried on the 4th line in Chi.
Bottom line for Flame fans...Every day that passes, the potential return for Iginla suffers.

Thats fine we dont need any blackhawk sloppy seconds anyway... Boston will give us theirs instead

In the NFL yes NHL no. If the Flames are smart there will be a draft pick that hinges on Iginla re-signing.

Yeah trading our top player of all time along with our top prospect to Boston for a late first round pick and a couple of mediocre prospects is dumb.
If Boston wants Gaudreau, they need to seriously overpay to get him. Anything short of Seguin, Hamilton and the next two first round picks for Gaudreau + Iginla and we get fleeced. If Boston doesn't want to do that then Feaster should tell them to go F themselves.

Or you need to realize he's double the player you think he is.
That's an easy game to play, Flash.

Your comment makes no sense whatsoever. He may not be the same player, but is still better then morrow. And will get a better return if he gets traded.

You've never dealt with a competitive bidding situation in your life have you.
As we get closer to the deadline and the pressures increase on multiple teams trying to make a deal the return is more likely to increase.

Qualify that. You think Morrow is worth more?

Yeah, it was a bizarre reply to be honest. I compared him to Morrow, not my personal thoughts on Iginla.
Fact if the matter is, people started to expect more post-Morrow trade. That set the bar right there for this deadline. People can bicker and argue about what kind of player Iginla is now but he's better then Brendan Morrow, that's not a debate to be honest.
Iginla is 35 and isn't the player he used to be.
Morrow is 34 and not the player he used to be.
Morrow brought back a very good prospect. Iginla should as well, and another piece as well.
Taking silly shots at me doesn't change any of that. Consistent Iginla bashing doesn't change that.

1388 posts in this thread. About 8 of them original, the other 1380 are the same 5 posters re-treading the same arguement for 4 days. Is this CP's longest running pissing contest?

Shhh don't say that. Flash hates Iginla. Rico Fata is 10 times the hockey player Iginla is in his eyes.

I still don't see why the Hawks need Iginla any way. They have Kane and Hossa and they seem to be dismantling every team in the NHL. They could do nothing and be no worse for wear. I think LA and the B's could use more firepower though.

Things like heart, character, and a will to win also matter. Things like defence, ability to play within a team game and sacrificing personal statistics for team goals matter. Chemistry matters. Heart matters. Commitment, accountability and drive matter. Consistently bringing these attributes matters.
Morrow carries these attributes in 5 gallon pales with him in a trade.
Hockey is so much more than goals and assists.

I think Kipper would be a better fit for Chicago than Iggy, but that isn't for this thread I suppose.
