Here are the Craps minimums.

This question isn't really about Vegas but is related to Vegas sportsbooks online. With the upcoming regulation changes for online betting in Ontario there are a number of new players entering the market in particular BetMGM and Caesar's Sportsbooks. Does anyone have any insight into if/when these books could expand to residents in Alberta? It would be great to be able to use these books for bets and get some tier credits and status points towards their loyalty programs.

I saw $5 blackjack at Tropicana but that was at 8:30am

we managed to get a decent deal at Tropicana and went to last weeks Knights game, man what a fun time, that arena was rocking for a noon game, will be going back if they make it and meet Flames.

No idea but can't you already do this in Alberta through the provincial AGLC site?

Problem is that the lower dollar tables (for Blackjack anyway) give you crappy odds. 6-5 payout on Blackjack plus dealer hits soft 17 and you can't double after splitting.

It's kind of a piss off really. You usually go $25 minimum or typically higher to get reasonable odds at the big casinos.

Yah the only 3:2 tables I saw last trip were $100 minimum.

Yeah, absolutely that works and I have used Play Alberta when they have decent deposit matches. But I'd rather bet with MGM or Caesar's because of their loyalty programs.

Heading to Vegas tomorrow for 3 nights. Staying at the Flamingo (dont laugh, great deal and I like the location).

Any tips for post covid Vegas? Last time I was there was 2018. Going with another couple, have a few things booked but trying to keep a lot of room open.

Also haven't flown since COVID, are things like n95 mandatory on planes? Proof of vacc?

Flamingo is pretty decent and they have done a lot of renovations in the past couple years. Your Vegas experience should be very much the same as last time but probably a bit busier. No need for masks or proof of vaccination anymore. The one thing that I have heard quite a bit about Flamingo recently is that the line up to check in can be brutally slow so be prepared for a possible wait. If they have online/app check-in like MGM resorts it might be a good idea to do that. The last time we were in Vegas we walked through the Flamingo lobby and there was hundreds of people in line. They apparently got rid of the Diamond check-in and I'm not sure if that room has returned although you might not be Diamond or higher.

My wife and I stayed at the Flamingo for our honeymoon.

We loved it. The line for checkin was long, but there were delays at the airport that caused a ton of planes to all arrive at the same time.

Location is fantastic, our room was better.

We also stayed 2 nights at the Stratosphere. That sucked. Like, a lot.

Nothing wrong with Flamingo though

Just a quick gear grinder about drink prices in Vegas because it has gotten ridiculously expensive down there. I choke when I see the prices at show venues and bars. We were at a concert at Caesar's Palace last week and after currency conversion a beer and margarita were $80. I was still stupid enough to buy the drinks but it really sucks. Drinks at the pools are a minimum of $20USD.

Booze, generally, has always been crazy expensive at venues. fifteen years ago, I was paying $25 USD for a Vodka Redbull. Now I'm sure the same drink is probably close to $40 USD (I don't drink Vodka Redbulls anymore so don't actually know the real price).

You've really got to be smart with the pre-gaming in Vegas. Booze from liquor and convenience stores, especially outside of the tourist traps, is insanely cheap. Use that for the base. On top of that you can drink for free in the casinos while gambling. If you play a low stakes game, you come out pretty far ahead. Then you have those stands on the strip that sell you an expensive marguerita, but one packed with enough booze to get you loaded. In fact, I'd be really careful with these. Some have a whole mickey in them.

Then once you're out order some beers, and if you want to get more loaded find some American free pour doubles.

I really need to go to Vegas to see that video sphere in person.

This think looks F-in incredible, and I really wish we'd see more of this kind of giant public sculptures/art in our infrastructure and buildings. In Asia these things seem more common, but North America is really far behind.

That Sphere is absolutely incredible. Was just in Vegas myself, stayed at the new Hilton Resorts World. can confirm, drink prices are outrageous. Cheapest drink you could get poolside was a small draft beer of Michelob for $12USD. Everything else was substantially more.

The casino service is pretty spotty now. I don't usually play table games anymore and I like to sit at the electronic horse racing game, Fortune Derby, which a couple hundred dollars. The table games might get better service but when I was playing there were a few times where a waitress wouldn't come around for over an hour despite all 8 seats being full.

I had one waitress during a session that was fantastic and would come around every 15 or 20 minutes and she even brought me Macallan when I asked for it. The next day with a different waitress I asked for Macallan as well and she said no.

The Sphere is definitely really cool and I think that shows in there will be incredible. I looked at U2 tickets for either opening night or the first couple weeks but the prices were higher than I wanted to spend considering I'm not a huge fan.

When we walked by near the Sphere last week it was either the spinning basketball or that boring green/purple default. But that video from the 4th of July was really cool, minus the eyeball.

I miss the old Vegas, where you could go into any bar, pay $1.00 for a shrimp cocktail, sit there as long as you wanted, and listen to the best music on the planet for free. Where everyone dressed up. You could go to a smorg and eat the best food you can think of for $10. The slots pumped out coins, and you walked around with your plastic bucket. You asked the girls, situated above the slots. what slot was paying, and when you won on the slot they directed you to, you gave them a nice tip. When you went to a show, you held your hand behind your back with a 20 dollar bill in it, and the attendant took you to the best seat in the house. When you went there on major holiday, many of the big Hollywood stars, famous singers and musicians were mixing with the crowds.

My dad, R.I.P., used to go to Vegas in part because of the cheap food and drinks. He also loved, he said, being able to stand at the urinal with his d1ck in one hand and a slot machine lever in the other.

Consider staying at Fremont for part of your trip to lower your costs. That's what I started to do.

Still can't understand how people just don't do out on the Strip to hit up CVS/Walgreens for drinks. Time before last I was there buddy got a 24 oz Dos Equis at the Cosmo for $11.00, go out to the CVS and the same beer is $3.00. But yeah last time I was down went to a concert at Brooklyn Bowl and four 24 oz beers from the tap came to $104 CAD with exchange.

Probably because people don’t want to walk the streets all day/night to drink and actually want to do things?
