Hanifin is the better player, IMO.

I'm not confident Andersson gets you more in a trade.

If we trade Andersson for 2026 1st in off season and Coleman for 2026 2nd at the trade deadline, 2026 season would be perfect year we should tank for top 3 picks.
How? I don't know. May be trade Kadri with half salary to where ever he wants to go and play younger guys way more than last season. Trading Vladar may help too

As for Farabee. It was posted somewhere here a few days ago his underlying numbers have been strong since his arrival and his efforts also did not show up on the main stat line which led to some folk thinking he wasn't playing very well.

We exceeded expectations this season and Wolf looks like a stud. However.. it's one season. The majority of our best players right now are all over 30 years old and could regress next season. So IMO I would wait and see what happens next season before considering making any sort of additions.

If next season Wolf goes on a tear from the start of the season to the TDL and everything else is going right (vets on par or exceeding this years totals, young players taking steps again) then sure maybe its time to consider adding. But I think adding to the team this summer when we could be headed for a top-10 pick in a fantastic draft next summer is a bit short-sighted personally.

I would rather trade Andersson this summer, see if there's trades for Coleman/Bean/Miromanov available, graduate more young guys next season and just run it back and see what you've got. Top-10 pick or playoffs next season please.

If all you can get for Coleman at next year's TDL is a late second, I'd suggest he has more value to the Flames playing out the season and trade him next off-season or collect the late second at the following TDL.

I doubt Calgary retains on both contracts.

Still likely too much cap for Dallas. They have basically zero room. Better to offer sheet Bourque.

IMO, Hanifin has the better toolbox, but Andersson is the better player.

Hanifin torpedoed his own trade value by letting it be known he wouldn't re-sign with most teams. I don't expect Andersson to do that.

Andersson has a great track record and is a RD which returns more. Fans are way more reactionary than GMs. He sure doesn’t get less than Hanifin

Of course they would because that’s a terrible trade for the Flames unless the + is more valuable than Bourque

I mean I know they're not as reactionary as fans....but that was an all time full bad season as far as star defensemen go.

I think a GM is going to look at a Flames team that should have been bottom 5 and forgive a lot of errors. Just like one good season doesn’t massively raise a players value I don’t think one bad season does. I think they should trade Andersson in the off-season because two bad seasons will do it.

I doubt the broken foot was the only injury.

GMs look at the player and what they can bring, not the season and what they did

Anderson also had a terrible season.

I assume injury related, but he may need to prove himself healthy.

Plus Hanifin was very young when his extension started, 27, Anderson will be 30 when his starts.

But Anderson offers a year so a team may simply look him as rental, which should equate to Hanifin value.

heard from a realiable source that Vlader has played his last game for the flames. Loves it here but wants to be a number 1 somewhere or at least the chance

That's really sad. I met Vladar over Christmas, he was with his friends and saw me wearing a Flames hat and came over to my group and talked to us for the better part of 10 minutes telling us how much he wanted to stay but wasn't sure it was possible with how Wolf was playing.

He is a great guy and I hope he continues to be in the league for a long time.
