Any good data on the rolls TFWs are taking?

I would expect Health Care, Construction and Ag/food processing are the bulk of the current TFWs.

The article claims about 65,000 would be reduced out 85,000. That seems really high.

Fast food and restaurants are another industry that seem to use the program a lot. Warehousing to a lesser extent.

During covid, the program was expanded to include the food and hospitality industry. Presumably loads of TFWs were hired as restaurant and hotel workers. I assume the carveout going forward is for agriculture workers, not Tim’s employees.

When I was driving taxi I picked up a trucker who had been driving on Bennie’s for so long that he had to go to the hospital to get brought back down. He was a long haul household mover.

Are you denying the current climate emergency or just commenting that Canadas policies will have minimal difference?

Last data source I looked at was this one: https://lmiamap.ca/

Lots of Food Service jobs, but also IT, administrative assistants, management, and accounting.

The announced 25% tariff on Chinese metal coming into Canada is going to affect my industry in a big way. All NA raw/finished coil is sold out. We'll have no choice but to pass on the increase to the customer. To make matters worse, aluminum and steel was reportedly already heading for a price increase in Q1 next year. Pile it on.

What happened to providing a LMO to bring these TFW in anyways? No way they would pass that test.

It is probably the best thing for the Liberals anyways. No matter who they put up is going to lose outside of a terrible campaign for PP, might as well let Justin go down with the ship and start new.

I mean the comparison to Biden are unfair.
Biden has excuses for his mental lapses.

There is a rally being held outside of a Liberal party event in Halifax today. According to reports the minister of labour unsurprisingly got quite an earful from some Union members in attendance.

One has to wonder why the politicians who supported “salt of the earth” Canadians that occupied the capital and shut down border crossings are nowhere to be found when other Canadians are lawfully protesting their actual charter rights being denied?

Data is scarce, but my feel is barrel, jelly, and likely cinnamon.

Probably because there isn’t at least one person waving a nazi flag.

Who wouldn't?

Trudeau is a dope and Poilievre is an idiot, but Trudeau also doesnt have any real marketable skills to speak of, can you imagine that dolt hitting the current Job Market?

The day after the Election, if he loses that guy is on EI.

I hear what you’re saying but how does poilievre get a pass here? Has he ever even had a job outside of politics?

Sperm donor for the test tube babies in the Manning institute.

The best was when the Reform Party trotted out Andrew Scheer. An insurance salesman without a license to sell insurance...

I dont mean to give him a pass at all.

I focused on Trudeau because I loathe to concept of 'Political Royalty' but I'm also no fan of 'Career Politicians' either. With both Trudeau and Poilievre are.

But you have to careful what you wish for. Some people want candidates with worldly 'Business' experience and that essentially gets you sociopaths like Trump.

At the end of the day our slate of potential Political Candidates is a giant #### sandwich.

At least Singh was a lawyer. Although that comes with some problems of its own as well.
