Di Rossi is not a good defender. In fact he isn't even a real defender and he's short. A true #9 would cause him fits. Spain ticky-tack soccer is easy for Di Rossi to defend.
I expect Croatia and Ireland with taller strikers to give Di Rossi more trouble. In Fact Italy may have to move Chiellini back into the middle just for that purpose.
I'm not saying Spain are not good but it's difficult for them to score more than one goal against quality teams. The last really great game Spain played was the 2008 semifinal where they trashed Russia 3-0.
I much prefer stud forwards and direct football like how Germany play.

I'll take the draw.
Italy played great in the first half but as per usual when playing Spain they started to run out of gas as the game went on.
De Rossi played a great game as a makeshift center back. He is good against this style though since his style can break down the Tiki Taki. I expect they move to a more traditional style against other teams.
Di Natale is very underrated, the guy just scores goals but never gets any respect as a player. Just a clinical finisher.

That was unlucky. The Irish switched off and Given had no chance. Just an unlucky bounce right to Jelavic.

Yeah, I think it more bounced off of him, but it came off him anyways and so wasnt offside.
Beautiful through pass though. Couldnt have asked for anything nicer.

To further my previous point. I love how the Croats play. Long diagonal balls from one flank to another. And yes I love balls into the box to the #9. Even if it doesn't work 80% of the time, it keeps the defenders on edge and prone to mistakes. We saw two defensive errors by the Irish.
At first I thought that was Miles Offsideovic but on the replay an Irish guy played it.

Thanked because I dont totally agree with your opinion, but people slobbering over Spain's knobs have to eventually learn to think for themselves.
Also, 'Miles Offsideovic' made me laugh like hell!

The Irish are playing really well but very little went their way. A little luck and they could have gotten a point out of this one.

There is a pretty huge difference between saying that Spain are setting football back 100 years and saying that you prefer a different style of play.

Who is slobbering on Spain's knob? Its all Spain hate in here.
For me personally, I get a lot of enjoyment out of watching the incredible skill and intelligence of the Spain side. There are times that I wish they would take a few more risks, but once they had a striker in the game you could see them taking those risks.

I'm going to be in Calgary this weekend and I was wondering where is the best place that I can go watch the Poland vs. Czech Republic game at 12:45 on Saturday?
In Edmonton we all go to the Polish club to watch Poland's games, and Elephant and Castle on Whyte for the other matches. What are the best places to watch games in Calgary? Obviously, the more crowded the better!

I take it you didn't watch the whole game.
They had a 20 minute spell in the first half and besides that it was all Croatia. When all is said and done this was a very comfortable and deserved win for Croatia. More organised, more talented.
They tried hard but to say they played really well??????
