Love the fact that Touchdown Jesus is pimp slapping the thugcanes all over the field!

You would think Texas could have gotten some better players to come to school if they were paying them. That is the argument I would use if I was Macky Brown.

Some really good early games...Go Sparty!
No idea what to expect from Fla/Penn St.....could be a dog of a game.
I have a feeling that Miss. St. rolls Michigan....and Wisconsin handles TCU.
Tonights game is fascinating to me the most though...U Conn probably shouldnt even be in this game sans the BCS rules, but OK has a history of sucking huge in these big ones lately (5 straight losses in BCS game IIRC), so who knows? Biggest game in the history of U Conn so maybe they wilt under the limelight.
Lots to see today though between these games and the NHL.

Bama just laying the hurt on Sparty early on...looks like men against boys thus far and that Mich. St. simply isnt ready for the spotlight.
Michigan up early as is Penn State.

Yeah this is ugly. We're not an elite team yet. The program is heading in the right direction, but we don't show up when it really matters. That's a really big hole in Dantonio's tenure so far.

The Big 10 gets just gutted in early games...LOL.
Wisconsin is their only hope to salvage a brutal day....and I think they win.

That has to be the worst day for a single conference in the history of the NCAA as far as results go. 0-5 and outscored by over 100 pts. Yikes.
And OK looking like they are just going to roll all over UConn...other than the Rose Bowl and the Penn St/Fla game...pretty lame day of games.

A pretty bad day for the Big Ten, but to be fair the Michigan schools made it look a lot worse than it should have been. Alabama played like the team they could have been all year, absolutely dominant, I think they could have beaten anyone easily with the performance they put in today. Michigan isn't a good team, and their D is so horrendously bad that not giving up 50 would have been a shock. Penn State was a drive away from pulling it out and Wisco lost a real battle. 0-5 is still brutal, but the margin part really is due to two heavily overmatched teams being exposed as such.
MSU is still a good team, they're just not good enough to play the best at their best. Still a big step forward for the program this year. Not a fun game for us Sparty fans, but I'm happy that we're in a place to at least face elite teams now. It's almost like teams like Norway at the world jrs, promoted to the A pool but really not an A team. That's how you get better though, playing the best and losing badly is better than playing in the B pool and getting wins.

hey I was not taking a shot at the Big 10 necessarily, just that I dont ever remember a single conference having that bad a day ever. I agree that Michigan is horrendous and should never have been in a game against such an opponent.
Wisconsin losing was the biggest stunner to me. They had over 60 lbs per player advantage when their O line faced TCU's d line...and they were beat in the long run. TCU deseres every bit of praise they get IMO, as I believed that WI was the best team in the country when their season ended 5 weeks ago. TCU beat them fair and square.
Interesting day though....now i wonder how the Buckeyes are going to fare against the Razorbacks after all the off field stuff they have gone through.

So I am hearing about a huge scandal now involving Texas. Apparently famous lawyer Gloria Allred has been brought in as well. It is not recruiting violations, rather a huge sexual harassment case involving 4 staff members (not Mack Brown, but his right hand man Cleve Bryant). Apparently it's been going on all season with investigators interviewing players, coaches, etc... Could explain why we had such an awful season with such a huge distraction. Crap is apparently going to hit the fan.

Andrew Luck has had a pretty nice game tonight, the second half in particular he's been on fire. Too bad they didn't match Stanford against a better opponent than Virginia Tech.

Tech was horribly overrated, I mean this was the team that lost to James Madison. OU vs Stanford and VT vs UConn would have been more appropriate games.
