Dual wielding gives you +15% attack speed (compared to only a potential max of 15 for a quiver). Problem is, you need 2 good weapons, since the damage is essentially averaged between the 2.
A 2hxbow will give you 50% crit damage through Archery passive, where 2hbow gives you a +20% damage overall, 1Hxbow gets +10 crit chance IIRC, but I am not 100% sure. Which is better, depends on your build, but for a SS DH, a think the 2hxbow is best.
1 handed cross bows will also give + max disc and + hatred regen, and are the only weapon that does.
If you are looking on AH, you will always get a better bang for your buck by going 2 handed, since the 1 handers are in higher demand, but if you are crafting or looting, then obviously that doesn't matter.
tl;dr
They are all pretty much the same, but some might be better depending on other gear/skills that you have and your playstyle. Buy the cheapest one from the AH, based on DPS and stats,

Reason: removed references to 25% AS bonus for dual wield.

Don't peg yourself into 2 x 1 handers though, because the cost is higher for 1 handed weapons (and then you need to buy 2!). Using a single 1 hander and a good quiver is good, especially is you can get + max disc on both, but when you are buying compare 2 handers as well. I wouldn't be suprised if you got an extra 100+ dps for the same cost just by switching to 2 handed weapons for a while.
edit: Right now I have some weapons that might be good for someone who just hit 60 and can't afford any real good upgrades or someone who has yet to hit 50.
494 dps 2hbow with level reduction 5 - level 55 to use)
432 dps 1hxbow, 71 dex, 283 life on hit, +45 crit damage
160 dps izzucob (legendary 1 hand bow) - Level 56 to use 48dex,40vit,5ias,+8max disc - Obviously the 2hbow is better but this one is legendary so I can't bring myself to salvage it without seeing
731 dps 1 hxbow - 120 vit. - level 60
730 dps 2hxbow - 2.5% life gain - level 60
I won't post any of them to AH right now, if someone wants one (or will need one in the near future) contact me in game - Rathji#1666 - and they are yours for no charget, but if you want to toss me some crafting materials in return it would be nice, especially for the legendary one!
Also have:
a couple quivers as well 14/15% ias, with some dex, vit, +max disc, %life, hatred regen, sockets
couple pairs of +12 movememnt boots with good dex, some with + AR, some with + vit
few shoulders with +dex, + vit, some with +AR
few amulets and rings +dex/vit, some + crit damage, some +AR
2h mace, lvl 60, 997 dps +110 vit
I am looking for a good bow upgrade (don't care what kind, but preference is 1hxbow -> 2hbow -> 2hxbow). Right now I have 817 dps, with 174 dex, 54 vit + socket. If someone comes across one, let me know.

Thanks for the input (Rathji and everyone else).
I went for dual wield solely because the DH looks more badass with 2H crosbows (and high heel boots) Speaking of boots, I went shopping last night and picked up a rare pair on AH with 12% movement speed, 108 Dex and some magic find on top of that, for a cool 2500 gold.
That 432 dps 1hxbow with Crit damage does look nice thought. I didn't buy any weapons yet, still pondering the next step, farming Hell for now.

So I was going to do a butcher run, and realized I didn't have time, so I ran and checked for a goblin, and then went to the dank cellar.
153% MR, I get stuck with this junk.

Nice, 7 properties and all of them are beneficial. It's too bad that we can't search for more than 3 properties in the auction house.
I got a nice ring just now too, 70+ strength, 100+ vit, 290+ life on hit. Not sure if we're all just lucky or the drop rate increase is that significant but I did a Seigebreaker through Azmodan run and probably got nearly 10M worth of stuff.

I just hit 60 and am nearing the end of Act 3 in Hell, so that's good.
Had to quit because I was tired of nearly dying to lag all night though.
Once though it worked in my favor, I couldn't move for 3-4 minutes, but my elemental clone could and I'd just encountered a yellow mob.. while I couldn't move, neither could the mob, so my clone just beat it down without taking a single hit lol.

yeah I listed this things at 23mil on the AH... dunno if I will get it. People on forums said it was worth between 12-18million. I figured if list at 23 and see what i could do.

Does anyone know when the loot tables are rolled? Is it when a mob dies, or when an area is loaded?

I'd guess when the mob dies. If it loads the whole area then the server would have to keep that in memory (since it's not going to trust the client to have that info, otherwise you could run a program to peek in and figure out what's available), and since loot seems to be truly random there probably isn't any good reason to roll a whole area and keep that info in server memory for each player.
Rolling it each time probably takes less resources.

Right now, it is mob dies.
Soon it might be changing to something else, which would probably involve something similar to: when it dies, with the MF/GF used being the least it was at any point while the mob is agro. Nothing is confirmed though, I just know they want to change it to prevent people from switching to MF right before a boss dies

To clarify, it is always when the item is dropped (generated). As Bastiok says, the unidentifying is just opening the present. I don't think that will change, however they may find a timer or something to overcome the MF switch tactic. (That, I am OK with, BTW).

I am totally fine with it as well. I always make sure that I have MF on a few of my pieces or MF gear that is good enough I can wear for simple clearing.
The only fight where I have the ability to switch out to full MF gear, with no real chance of dying, is the Warden.
