Just thought I'd mention what a treat it was to see Brett Favre play live last weekend. I was in the lower bowl at Titans coliseum and the guy was on fire all game. Once in a lifetime experience to watch him play.

Plaxico Burress shoots himself in a nightclub.

Fox Sports.com reported that Burress accidentally shot himself in the leg and spent the night in the hospital.

Unbelievable....
He's a talented receiver in the Randy Moss mold, but his off field antics would make the old Moss from Minnesota blush. Can't help but wonder how good he could be if his head was even half ways on straight.

This Burress story just gets weirder.
Now reported on ESPN that Burress and his teammate Antonio Pierce were in the nightclub "relaxing" on a sofa together. Pierce noticed Burress's gun was "sliding" down his leg so he attemted to grab it when it went off. Now the gun is missing and Pierce is being investigated for helping cover-up the whol incident. Burress is facing felony gun charges and there is also a report yet another Giant player was involved.
I mean....seriously? If I am the Giants i cut ties with Burress right now and for good. he has now involved at least one other player of mine in a very serious incident. That is unacceptable in any situation. What was h doing with a gun in a nightclub late on a Friday night, and what possible good was going to happen with it?
Whats with NFL WR's anyhow? Moss, Owens, Johnson (Ocho-cinco), Burress and of course Rae carruth in the past.
Yikes.

I wonder how much of it has to do with a fear of being messed with when out like that?
I guess my response to someone who has that fear is not to put yourself in those situations. It's not right, but it's the price you pay for fame.

Sure and its understandable.
thing is though...and keyshawn Johnson explained this on pre-game, is that for 500 bucks a week the NFL head of security will furnish you with an off-duty FBI or citty policeman who are allowed to be armed.
$2,000 a month for protection when you are making 7 million a year is truly a drop in the bucket and makes WAY more sense than carrying an illegal weapon you likely aren't properly trained for.
Something about this story is just weird beyond the "accidental" shooting IMO.

Agreed, but these guys need to be seen as "badass", having an off duty cop is not "badass".
Also, I know you through Chad Johnson in there, and yeah he's definitely eccentric, but as far as I know he's not a criminal and not even in the same category as some of these other schlubs.

Wow. Packers kick a short FG to lead 31-28 at the 2-minute warning.
Then bang.. Panthers 45 yard kick-off return...bang 54 yard completion down to the 1.
EDIT: TD Panthers 35-31 now but they left 1:30 on the clock.
EDIT: INT Rodgers.. game over.

Wow...how is Jamie Winborn still considered an NFL linebacker? The guy has been awful for as far back as I can remember.

I would be shocked to see the Broncos take anything but a LB or DL in the first three rounds of the draft this year.
Other than DJ Williams, there isn't a single player there that is getting it done this year.
Although, Wesley Woodyard an undrafted rookie from Kentucky, is an interesting player who has been pretty good since coming in and starting for Nate Webster.

Tough loss for the Saints today in crappy conditions. Lots of drops(8) by N.O. receivers today, but in the end Brees had a chance to seal it up but threw INT's in back-to-back drives in the final 5mins to close out the loss.
The guy's an elite QB but he seems to regularly make poor decisions in clutch situations. IMO its the difference between him and guys like Brady.

The Broncos have lost 3 more defensive starters on 3 consecutive plays. Spencer Larsen, Ebenezer Ekuban and Dre' Bly. None of them look likely to return.
I can't recall a Denver team ever having this many injuries. (for the season I mean).
Surprisingly, Ekuban and Bly are both back.

Well, the Chargers once again fail to win an important game at home and, though they are mathematically alive, their season is probably over because of it.
As bad as the Broncos are, what does it say about the 'most talented team in the NFL' that they have fumbled numerous opportunitites to make up ground on Denver?
Bye bye Norv.

Norv might have just proven the last two years that he's one of the worst head coaches in NFL history.

Big game coming up tonight for the Vikings. It sounds like the game plan is for AP to run straight at the Chicago D and let the chips fall where they may. Of course Minnesota has to worry about a guy named Forte running through their D also. Both teams are 6-5. Should be a gooder.

My son is pretty pumped to be able to watch the Vikings for the first time in several weeks. He's been running off the adrenaline from the OU/OSU game last night.
I predict a huge game from Purple Jesus.
Vikings 24 Chicago 16
