All is well. He (Tristan) lost a bit of weight, but he's put most of it back on. He's a big boy, future stalwart Flames blueliner!

Maybe I will bring out another team, or portions thereof, to play with. That is unless we have enough...

Hold off on that thought for a bit. I can ask our guys if they want to come out for an exhibition game with you.

OK, checked with our teams, and most people are either already out of town or are going to be for the weekend. So no luck there for an exhibition.

Well, if no one is against it, I will invite a few from my other team to augment our numbers and make a scrimmage at the least, possible.

No idea. Sunday is too far away for me to think about.

I am a 20-80% against, since all my schoolwork, but if I give up on life and decide to drop out from my last year of university I shall be there ready for some nice weather ball!

Hey quick question for all of you... (possibly only my team depending on league rules)
What kind of shoes is everyone wearing out there? cleats?
I went out and hit some balls around w/ the roommate the other day, and didn't like how dirty my shoes got... I have old runners, but am wondering if I should invest in some cleats.
Also do you guys who have played slo-pitch plenty in the past recommend a legit softball mitt? I have 3 or so baseball gloves, and again did alright with them, but was wondering if many saw a great difference in the type of mitt they used (esp. if they switched)

TU, cleats are recommended, just NOT metal ones. I personally prefer football shoes. They wear well and have great traction.
Gloves are personal preference. Larger if you are an outfielder, smaller if you are an infielder (aside from first base). Play with what you have until they break/wear out.

SUNDAY SCRIMMAGE - 1:00 PM at Optimist Prime
Hopefully a few people can go early and grab the Diamond.
Looks like there will be enough for a game, with people coming from SW, Central, and a few ringers.
Remember, there is a chance for CP softball players to win An Evening With Troutman III. Be ready to possibly join me for Game 3 at the Dome.

Okay, going through this thread it looks like a scrimmage of decent size is in the works. We may have 18-20!!!
Checked out the field today, was still wet, but maybe by tomorrow...
Also the kids at St Gregorys have rolled snow into giant boulders and they are all over the field. If they do not melt, they may be a fun obstacle. The second field (closer to Sarcee) had very few obelisks.
For fun (after watching the boulders melt) I decided to hit them some grounders. They actually fielded better than troutman.
So just a reminder to all...the interested parties were:
troutman, 4x4, sportsjunky, Aeneas, Rhettzky, Flameskickass, rubecube, resolute, firefly, chid, rinkrat, locke. Sorry if I missed someone.
Resolute, did your email to central bring any result? Will the bases be coming?
So if we have 12 or so, and I am bringing out 2 girls and 3 guys from another team, we have a game!
Hopefully someone will get there early and hold the field for us. There will be a few teams out tomorrow for first practices I'll bet.

That'd be okay to if there is another team there, we could scrimmage them if we dont have enough people
