Trump claims tariffs will proceed:
https://www.cbc.ca/amp/1.7467202
Quote:
Speaking to reporters at a White House news conference with the French president, Trump said work to implement those tariffs is "moving along very rapidly."
"The tariffs are going forward on time, on schedule. This is an abuse that took place for many, many years. The tariffs will go forward, yes, and we're going to make up a lot of territory," Trump said.

50% placed on aluminum, meanwhile:
https://www.reuters.com/world/europe...us-2025-02-24/
Quote:
He noted that Russian companies could supply up to 2 million tons of aluminum to the U.S. market annually if the U.S. market reopens. Russia used to provide around 15% of U.S. aluminum imports before prohibitive duties were introduced in 2023.
"This (Russian aluminium supplies) will not significantly affect price formation. However, in my opinion, it would still have a restraining influence on prices," Putin said.

I think they'll pull the same #### as last month.
They'll pull back at the 11th hour again and do a 30 or 45 day reprieve so he can drum up the annexation rhetoric some more.

I’d go with a moat. They seem cool, and can’t fall over.

I saw a video clip yesterday of him calling out Trump's falsities around Ukraine too.
What's next? Joe Rogan's gonna call out Trump's BS?
What a world.

Those popular 'right' figures will turn on Trump when they gauge the temperature of their audience and see that it's in their best interest.
They'll all sell out for whatever narrative keeps them relevant.
Too bad selling out for Trump was that last fall.
That's probably why Rogan maintains that he doesn't pick sides, even though it's obvious to those of us that pay attention which one he leans towards based on his actions (and lack thereof). The faux non-partisan facade allows him to bend with the wind, but also makes him somewhat of a coward.. to put it lightly.

i found this interesting.... i'm also on a truck forum and in the one topic one of the members (who is in oklahoma) brings up that he needs to buy a new dishwasher.
he had gotten a price then trump announced the tariffs...
Quote:
Then the tariffs were announced and our $750 dishwasher jumped to $1030. Holy crap! When the tariffs were pulled back the price dropped back down to $830, still a 10% price increase, but we have to replace it.
|
but according to trump tariffs are the answer
i'm not sure which way this guy leans politically but lots of these guys are in the southern u.s. and are rather "red neck". i want to reply with "you voted for this!!" but don't feel like stirring the political pot with them.

So Russia is going to be supplying America with aluminum and other commodities over us now? Is that what’s going to happen?

This didnt have to happen. If only some idiot hadnt signed a 'horrible deal for America' back in 2019...oh wait that was trump. He is complaining about the deal he signed.

Yeah, it’s pretty much part of the ploy to punish Canada at this point.

I don't think Rogan is actually a pernicious figure, he just explores the shallowest possible depth of any issue to leave him feeling informed. but the second he accidentally learns something just a tiny bit deeper, then he suddenly has a new found awareness that is wholly authoritative on the world.
A walking, talking Dunning Kruger effect will eventually trip over information that will reveal the dangers of Trump to people like him, and will act like he is the first to realize we need to turn on Trump.

This would be so incredibly dumb. The U.S. can already buy everything they need from Canada at a cheaper rate and you don’t have to ship it overseas. This has to be some of the worst economic decision making in history. What a bunch of clowns. I mean, I get it. They’re best buds with Russia now and their allies are now their enemies. But still, this would be so incredibly stupid.

Time to order some ship sinking drones from Ukraine. They want to ship to the US. Make them go around Hawaii.
