That’s fantastic. I assumed everything would be removed out of sight. But with September generally being dry sunny weather, this will allow us to prolong the vigil for a while longer and give more chances for those impacted to soak it all in and pay respects.

I’m at the grounds now and can confirm. They just made this announcement in front of the crowd here. They’re beginning to relocate items but items will stay. (Lots of chalk around too for families with kids.)
Tribute will remain up for the foreseeable future.
Will sort and share photos/videos when I get home.

I'm glad it's staying up for the foreseeable future. The memorial and outpouring has been stunning and it's very good for people to have a place to gather and mourn.

It seems to pretty clear to me that Gaudreau left to be closer to his family- nothing else. Can't be upset with him. I really do believe he was torn with that decision. At the end- his love for family won out as it should. Now in hindsight, I'm glad he made that decision and probably might impact some of my future decisions as well.
Katie Gaudreau to her big brothers: "To know these two was to love these two. There are absolutely no words I have to express the bond my family shared. The entire world knows there would never have been a John without Matty or Matty without John. The absolute best big brothers a little girl could have asked for. This will never be a goodbye post because I will never stop saying your names and honoring you both. I'll take the best care of mom, dad, Kristen, Mer, Madeline, and your babies."
Had a little chat with her and asked if I could take this photo. She said she’d eventually like to offer it up to auction or sale to help put toward Matthew’s Go Fund Me.
A few other photos, including the Gatorade and hat I left beneath a nice photo someone else put up.
If you can get down there, it’s worth it—not only to see all the items/tributes but also to experience it with other Flames fans. Very cool.

The Quest stands upon the edge of a knife. Stray but a little, and it will fail, to the ruin of all. Yet hope remains while the Company is true. Go Flames Go!
This means very little in the grand scheme of things, but the picture that I left in the very spot pictured above (where the hockey sticks are) is no longer there. I also noticed the black and white framed photo of Johnny and Matthew that was prominently displayed at the top of the memorial was not there (at least that I could see) when Ryan Leslie interviewed Conroy this morning.
Hopefully they were just moved (or removed if was really windy or something) but that was kind of a bummer to see.
In any event, I’m glad to hear they’re able to keep the memorial up for at least a little while longer.

Just wanted to affirm to you that no items were removed. They were all very carefully relocated to either the far left stairwell as you’re looking up at them, or to the grass.

Has Connor McDavid or Sidney Crosby said anything? As the two faces of the NHL, you'd think they would say something. Even Wayne Gretzky did and I'm sure he had fewer encounters with Johnny than CMD or Sid
I went to the Dome with my wife and four boys last night. Pictures don't do it justice. What a fantastic memorial put on by Calgarians. I will try to go to the vigil tomorrow night as well

Not sure if Crosby has any SM.
McDavid posted RIP.

I am not sure if this tribute video was posted yet, sorry if it's a repost. Such a great compilation of moments. 1:35 to 1:50 just rips my heart out.
Ugh, so touching but so hard to watch. Thanks for this.
Life is just not fair sometimes, and its awful that it takes tragedy to remind us of this sometimes.
