One more inning until Miller (you have to assume 2 innings for him tonight.). Had to cash at least a run in there.

Yeah, he's pitched about as well as he can, but Merritt simply doesn't have major league stuff. All he's done with his curve is throw get me over strikes and he hasn't thrown his change for a strike. Basically he's just pumping in no movement, 86 mile fastballs on the corners - all belt high too. When you don't have to worry about a sharp breaking ball, those pitches should be put in play and hard. But the Jays approach lately is just trying to pull everything in the seats, no matter the count or situation. Which makes no sense when you're playing a guy with zero stuff. That's what you got to do against Kluber because he isn't going to give you much, but against Merritt the idea should've been to stay agressive and tee off. He has no out pitch so why are you worried about getting in a hitters count?

It's okay, you can load the bases against the Jays because they aren't going to score.

Yeah that was a shocker.

Pillar out on his front foot waving at a breaking pitch in the dirt.

I love his defense but Shapiro needs to rebuild the offence next year.

Well, the positive in all this is we know who has to be traded and signed. Pilar is a goner.

Pretty much anyone who swings at the dumbest pitches should not be back next year.

They're not trading Pillar. Fan favourite. Controllable. Lousy hitter, but wouldn't be as exposed if we weren't running Barney/Goins out there.

They need to upgrade players like him somehow if they are going to take advantage of their strong starting pitching next season.

I love Pillar, but he has a terrible approach at the plate and with two strikes he mine as well just go back to the dug out because it's over.

All teams 8th hitters suck and Pillar is the best at D.

He's isn't going anywhere ! Wait until you get to watch a full year of Upton and Smoak at the plate!

Estrada has pitched good this inning and last. I missed everything before that so can't comment on the start

3 runs in six innings is a quality start. Jays gotta hit though.
