I am still confused about this and don't really understand the rules. Shouldn't the refs have blown the play dead when Sherman jumped offside? This would have stopped all the dramas.

Sherman would know a lot about missed calls, he gets away with pass interference multiple times every game.

It was also selfish of him to run his interception out of the end zone. Lucky he gained some yards.

He made it to the 31 yard line. Was a good play. 11 additional yards than taking a knee.
Most coaches would tell their players if they see an opening to take it. Not just kneel.

He decided to run it out before seeing if there was any opening. He got lucky. He was selfish.
Had another look:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IX2J4jJVNK8
He catches the ball facing the back of the end zone - he has a moment to look upfield and there are two Bills around the 5 yard line. He almost steps out of bounds around the 10. Not a big deal, I was just surprised he would take it out there.

Today people in SD vote on the stadium initiative; needs 2/3 majority to pass. Lots of people have predicted that it won't pass

So then is it the Raiders to Vegas and the Chargers to LA?

Still makes no sense for me for the Chargers to go be the LA B-team and share the stadium with the Rams. Does LA really need two teams? We kinda need evidence they can support one first.

He's an inspiration to the kids out there...I certainly get why a Seahawks fan would like him, but outside of that I don't understand how anyone could. He's like WWF heel levels of cocky villain, it's nuts. I really think he loves that rep too.
I loved watching our rookie WR Michael Thomas show no intimidation towards Sherman's physical game whatsoever last week and then catch a TD over him. Makes me so happy watching him pout on the sidelines after getting burned.

I'm getting that feeling that we will see a Giants and Patriots Super bowl. This go round it's the Giants finding a running game just in time for the playoffs.

I wasn't defending Sherman. I was calling out a stupid take from Troutman.

I just said the same thing to my dad. I think the Giants are built for a playoff run

Cmon, you have no idea what he saw. If it was anyone else I'm sure you wouldn't have the same strong opinion about if it was a good decision to come out. Turns out that it was by 11 yards. End of story.

He's got a mouth and in the heat of the moment is much more intense and less disciplined with what he says, but away from the field he's one of the smartest, well spoken players in the league.

On the field he might just be one of the smartest. Dirty or not he made sure he touched the ball on the kick making it a football play, it wasn't his fault that the ref failed to blow the whistle. On the last play of the game, he knew that once Tyrod left the pocket it was a free shot at a receiver.
The sad thing is that he might know the rules better than some officials, coaches, and media.

I agree, you are always taught to play to the whistle. On the FG there was no whistle. He would have had the right to go full blast into that ball. Once you touch the ball there is no roughing. The outrage should be 100% towards the refs and not Sherman.

I'm sure a lot of pro athletes we hate are good guys off the field/court/ice. Doesn't mean they're not easy to hate on it. As a sports fan that's the only part of him I care about, where he's a knob.
He knew he was offside by a mile, and when does the kicker ever not kick it - just to stay fresh - even on a play they know is going to be a redo. Sherman knew the kick wasn't going to count, he was just being Sherman. Then he slammed right into the kicker's legs with his back. Accidental or not, on a play he knows wasn't going to count, that's brutal. It's just such a him thing to do.
Totally agreed the refs epically botched the call and the aftermath, what a train wreck that was. But Sherman absolutely has fault on that play, he knew what he was doing and that it was a broken play.

It's like an Aaron Rodgers free play if he doesn't go for the block. If he held up halfway there is likely no whistle and Carpenter, if he misses, gets another shot at the kick.
He then touches the ball first. Then rolls elsewhere. Perfectly in the rules. Not his fault that the refs didn't blow the whistle, not his fault that the kicker tried to kick it, not his fault the the placeholder let his kicker kick it. Sherman just outsmarted tons of league officials and football analysts. He was well within his rights to do what he did.
If anything, how about Dan Carpenter for faking his injury? Trainer runs on immediately after the play. Constant switching between special teams and offence. The ref as well for holding on the ball for too long. IMO that play was a lot of things, but it wasn't dirty by Sherman.

Oh yeah kicker totally acted, but really, when doesn't that happen? Kickers gonna kicker, and we rightly always shake our heads at it. Kickers gonna kicker, and Sherman gonna Sherman. They're both clowns.
But I'm not gonna keep gumming up this thread with my hatred for that guy, not much more to add at this point. If someone likes him and his antics that's their prerogative. For me, he's the type of player very easy to hate and fun to root against, and that play (and a couple other of his antics that game) was a classic reason why.

It was a missed penalty according to the league... So I don't know where this Sherman was Perfectly within the rules is coming from.

I think the Cowboys have the most complete team this season and they should be the team to beat. If the Steelers make the playoffs, which they should, they are probably going to the Superbowl assuming their roster gets healthy
