Blue Jays fans were quite loud in Schanks south tonight. A group of them had a table up front and were quite enthusiastic and a bit drunk too. Made it hard to hear what picks people were making in the CP hockey pool draft.

I think the guy is just very serious. But his reaction to the trade was never great. Matters not as he is under club control - if the Jays lose both Price and Estrada he might be the piece you move for pitching and go with Travis + Goins up the middle.
Funny, because, as much as I love GoGo and his Alomar-esque glove, I haven't seen him hit worth a lick in the postseason. This is friggin Troy Tulowitzki that we got from Colorado for Jose Reyes and a bunch of prospects. My goodness, trading Tulo because he's serious = insanity. He's the Tim Duncan of baseball...you don't ever trade fundamentally sound shortstops like Tulo just because he looks "serious." I'd rather have serious Tulo than guys who's had some small sample size of success in offence (Goins/Travis). We're talking about the best shortstop in baseball here that we got for a happy-go-lucky guy. Absolute Insanity.

Who said that's why you trade him????
You trade him because you have really good options still behind him (albeit not as good), and you will need young pitching

And that good young pitching needs one of the best defensive SS in baseball behind them.
You don't trade a Tulowitski unless you are a rebuilding team or he simply isn't performing to certain levels. The former is not applicable, but the latter is arguable based on his offensive performance in TO thus far.
I think the idea of trading Tulo was only brought up as a possibility because of the notion he might not want to be in TO (brought up by Browna) and would push for a trade after the season.
That IMO would be the only reason the Jays should or would entertain the idea of trading him.
@bnicholsonsmith: Gibbons: Price more likely to pitch than Stroman today. Could go multiple innings. #Bluejays
@Wilnerness590: Gibby: Probably see Price before you see Stroman (out of the bullpen today). Can't use both. Price can throw a few inn. #Bluejays #Jays
Had to PVR it last night. I thought there would be more of a meltdown in this thread when the Jays weren't capitalizing early. Glad to see that wasn't the case.
Estrada was dominant - what a game. And Tulowitzki's smash could be the series changer, IMO. Exactly what the Jays needed. And exactly what he needed.
Everything changes now. The pressure is all on Texas because they know if it goes back to Toronto, the Jays have a huge advantage. And the Jays are feeling better now that their bats have come alive and the pitching has started to roll.
I still believe the Jays win this series.
And I agree, no letting the doubters and Debbie Downers back on the bandwagon.
Bringing Price in last night would have been a huge mistake, glad it didn't happen.
As for the plan of having him throw a few innings today, at first I didn't like it but I have changed my mind.
The idea of Dickey throwing a 70 mph knuckleball for a couple times through the order, then Price coming in and throwing left-handed heat for a couple rounds, sounds like an awesome combination.
And then you go with Stroman in game 5.
The other thing it does is make Price ready for game 1 of the ALCS on 3 days' rest if it starts on Friday. If it starts Saturday, he would have full rest. Estrada goes on game 2 and Stroman is ready for game 3.
Or, if it's Friday, you could go Estrada then Price as well.
Looking forward to the game today. I think Dickey is going to have a very short leash this game. Even though R.A. has been good recently I still don't have much confidence in him whatsoever just because his body work with the Jays has been so inconsistent AND his 66 walks.

I'd rather have Stroman throwing out of the bullpen today than Price (left handed considerations aside). I think Price would be lights out on game 5. He can't continue to struggle in the post season forever. He's too good of a pitcher for that.
Price just has a little more rest than Stroman does (3 days opposed to 2), so from that angle it would make more sense to have him go today and Stroman Wednesday.

Hopefully they rock Holland and it doesn't matter. Bats looked better last night. Stranded a lot of runners, but a big step forward. That game last night shouldHave been a blowout.
Im still a little uneasy about their faith resting on whether Dickey's knuckle ball is dancing or not.
