Who knows if they beat the Chargers at home on Monday night, maybe they have a shot at winning the division with a 9-7 record.

Oh it should count! Its the first road shutout for the Chiefs since the early 70's and if nothing else is a good time to enjoy the misery of the Raider fans. Remember that signature of EE we had to look at all winter? Its been shelved.
I get that it was Boller, but Palmer came in as well. The guy that was worth a first round pick and potentially another one wasn't a whole lot more effective.
Sure, it might have been expected, but a 28 point shutout is still awesome to see against the Raiders. Maybe the only thing better would be a beatdown like that for the Broncos. Pretty awesome that next Monday the Chiefs play a MNF game for a share of first place in the West. They sure didn't look like they'd be anywhere near that three weeks ago!

Just saw this on ESPN...Aaron Rodgers was almost perfect today by QB rating standards...a 146.5 passer rating.
That game was way too close for comfort when your QB puts up that kind of performance....and i still feel that the downfall of the club will indeed be that defense which simply isnt deep enough to overcome the injuries they have sustained. TT and McCarthy need to work some of that 2010 magic and find some guys selling cell phones or stocking shelves if they want to repeat.

Palmer may fall flation his face in Oakland, but today was no indication either way...dude has been working with that offense for 3 days...this isnt hockey where you lot a guy in and just tell him to do what he does, a QB needs to learn a playbook a well as his players and their tendancies and timing....not to mention that was palmers first real action with pads and contact in 10 months or so.

I totally agree, but its just so entertaining and fun to watch that I couldn't help but point it out. I don't cheer for guys to be injured on either side, but the biggest impact was probably the McFadden injury. Without him the QB just has so much more pressure and surely that didn't help Boller or Palmer. I still hope Palmer can't right the ship though....

No doubt, I never heard Raider fans say, well the Chiefs are down to Tyler Thigpen at QB. I was sort of hoping one of them would comment that they wanted Jamarcus Russel back today. Hopefully it happens by year end.

This win isn't nearly as satisfying as the Patriots win on Monday Night Football a couple of years ago, but I'll gladly take it.
Maybe the Rams will be stiffer competition next week...

I understand that losing Peyton was a huge blow for this club, but that simply doesnt explain how shoddy and inept the defense is...this was a team destined to fail this year and in a spectacular way, but no one could of seen this kind of drop off.

I am not sure how much validity there is in it, and you likely have heard it before, but I have heard from multiple NFL analysts that the Colts defense is designed to play with the lead that Manning would often give them. The thinking being that allows Mathis and Freeney (the only two above average defenders on the team) to tee off and masking the huge holes on the Colts defense in other areas.
I am not sure with Manning that they would have been a top team but it does seem that the whole team, offense and defense, were built around what he brought to the team.

Colts have built their defences to have a lot of speed. Basically force the other team to pass and let Freeney and Mathis go after the QB. As much as Brees torched the Colts thru the air, the Saints also racked up some serious rushing yards. When the opposition doesn't have to be one dimensional, and the Colts offence isn't dictating how they have to play, the defence can be exposed.

Huge win for the Bears this week, as wins over the Falcons and Bucs could be very beneficial in the wildcard race at the end of the season.

Let's not have 5 teams with above .500 records and the Eagles take the same bye week again, please thanks? What a horrible day of football.

The Fish has one winnable games vs KC. The Colts have two winnable games against an 1-5 Jacksonville. The Fish play in a much stronger division (Bills, Pats Jets) and the Cotls play in a weaker division (Texans, Jags, Titans). At this point, the Fish look like they'll win the Luck sweepstakes.
